November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

I need to find some magnetic paper.

I had trouble finding it--our office supply store did not have it, and I couldn't find it at Target, either. Finally found it last night at Hobby Lobby, in a weird place -- I can't even describe what "department" it was in, it seemed really random. Good luck!!!!

I gave up on finding the magnetic paper. I printed on cardstock to make it sturdy, and bought stip magnets to attatch to the back. I have done something similar on previous cruises, and it has worked well.

Looks like we're sailing with a full ship. When I put in the info for the 4 of us, I only get GTY in Cat4 and 11. A few more Cats are added when I only put in two adults. I guess there's no hope of upgrading at the port.

I don't know if I should be nervous, but all this talk of packing is making me feel like I'm missing something. But we are traditionally late packers, and I've got days to go. I did many loads of laundry today, but so much of the stuff I pack will still be needed for this week.

Hope everyone is feeling better, and avoiding the wrath of Noel.

Lauri

Hi Woody,

Not sure if me or DH will make the walk on the first sea day, but we will try for one of the others.
Join us when you can. It would be nice to have you along.

Woody

We're up to 60 MPH now, on and off heavy rain. Power is out on most of the island and tree are down everywhere. We one of the lucky one's that have power, but who knows for how long. Looking fo that FAST FWD botton to get to next Saturday. My DS(15) picked today to do his ironing and packing as well, only because none of his friends have internet because the pHower is out.

things seem to be calming down around here. hope all is well on MV. the news says the winds are as bad as hurricane winds on the cape.

ugh i'm going packing crazy!!!!

I think i've finally convinced DH that he IS going no matter how many times he says no :P

I need to find some magnetic paper.

I found mine at staples. it was amazing just calling stores to see if they carry it. everyones initial answer is no even though some times they do. most people have never heard of magnetic paper. in my area michaels also had it. staples calls it magnetic sheets and it is made by staples. michaels magentic paper was made by royal brites and the store near me had it in the poster board section.

For someone who has just recently joined this thread............YOU GUYS ARE OUTAA CONTROL!:scared1:

 Hurricane force winds:eek:
 What should I wear?:confused3
 Tribute to NICU nurses:cloud9:
 I can't quite get excited about packing:charac2:
 The whole fam-damily is feeling ill:scared:

.....and I have enjoyed every minite of your posts!:grouphug: Thank you! You seem like agreat group and I probably should have chimed in long ago........

Your wonderful additions to life as premies or sick neonates is what makes MY life go 'round! I enjoy it thoroughly. Ironically, when we are sailing, my hospital is moving to and opening a BRAND NEW NICU, with all new equipment. We have new Neonatologists, and we are working on new nurse mgmt! After 13 years, it is a new over-haul for me and when I return to work on Thanksgiving Day, I will literally be walking into a new adventure in my career and I am excited and scared all in the same!

I have spent today running around packing and fussing.........and STILL haven't sat down to fill out our documents! I remember our first DLC....three years ago..............:scared1: I was packing two months in advace and METHODICAL about every little detail. That is what is so awesome about this vacation!...............the more you do it, the more you are convinced, and the more you are convinced, the more you are relaxed; and the more you are relaxed, the more you are confident. The more you are confident, the more spontaneous fun you will have! I am a little tempted to try another cruise line; however, I am apprehensive 'cause DCL rocks! For those of you who are new to this this year, I am excited for you!:thumbsup2 Be prepared to feel the urge to rebook!

We are so excited and can't wait to see fellow dis'ERS.:grouphug:

Could someone please repeat the meet times and plans thus far?

My name is Allison and would be pleased to meet up with such nice looking folks!:)

Well, here is my first attempt at posting pictures, hope it works! I'm up at 4 am, can't sleep, think it's all the excitement. This time next week we'll be sleeping on the Magic!!

I can't help but notice those adorably perfect looking triplets!
The three little piggies! :dance3: I am SURE they were somewhat premies and landed themselves in an NICU for a while. Hugs to you guys for all that endures in such an experience! Congrats! You are doing exactly what I would be doing with my clan of children!................:cheer2: taking them on the most awesome vacation ever! We spoil our two kids and you have even MORE reason to celebrate!

DisNurse, you and my DW will have something in common. She is an RN as well but in the ER...although she only works now and then these days with the 2 little kiddies that keep her busy...and NUTS at times!

Can I ask why we need to bring rolls of quarters? I'm thinking that the singles are for tipping for room service etc but why quarters? Laundry perhaps? Just curious as even though I was not a boy scout I like to be prepared!

Thanks

Marnie

P.S. Only 5 more sleeps!

I'm bringing quarters for laundry. Although, I hope I don't have to do much, if any!:)

noel is gone. only a windy rain storm in nh thankfully. I hope all our friends on the coast are ok. I saw magnetic paper at Staples, as well as Kmart. Now lets see if we can get some packing done before the big game. Go Pats!!

Noel let us off pretty easy...just high winds and rain.

I'm in awe of everyone who is packing already! I'm such a bad last minute packer. One trip I was packing an hour before we needed to leave for the airport  I am going to try and get DS to try on his suit today. He made his First Communion in the Spring and we are really hoping it still fits. The dern kid grows so fast though! Hopefully, I won't have to add a trip to the mall this week! DD is easy....just pack every princess dress and basically every other dress in her closet :lmao: She is such a girly-girl.

And of course, I woke up with a major head cold this morning. :headache:

Thats pretty much all we got here also. I drove around this morning and was surprised I didn't see any branches or tree limbs in the road. We live in a pretty woodsy area and after a heavy rain and wind storm we are usually dodging limbs and brances in the road, but this time I didn't see anything (not that I am complaining though:lmao: )

Go Pats!!

Is the game as big of a deal there as it is here? This entire city is a sea of Colts blue. Half of the congregation at church this morning were wearing Colts jerseys. I think this game has been hyped here almost as much as the Super Bowl was!!!

Even here in NY the game is a big deal. The Giants are on a bye this week, and the Jets stink, so this is the only other important game. Go Pats!:)

Coming to say once again - I like seeing the pictures (I will likely remember kiddos names but will be horrible at adult names!)

I am 2/3 packed (i.e. the four kids) - with four kiddos five and under, it takes a lot of time to get everything done. We leave on Tuesday afternoon so our time is getting close. We are in Orlando for a few days prior to the cruise.

Our crowd is so excited but a bit disappointed the Cars movie won't be playing in the big theatre - we have been talking that one up for MONTHS!

I am sure we will watch it again somewhere on board (for the 20th time or so).

Can't wait.

I need to go buy Children's Gravol (OTC in Canada) - Noel has my sister a bit nervous of rough seas (I just haven't thought about it yet!) [Not because of Noel but because we might have rough seas.]
