November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

We really won't pack anything for awhile yet. But we did take the suitcases we expect to take with and did a test run fit in the back of the Odyssey to see if they will fit. We put our 3 large ones in there and figure Grandma will have one. So four big cases fit! I am really going to try and make sure that we stick to 3! I will mail a box of Dis goodies to ourselves on the ship and will check on that tomorrow. Surprisingly, there is a lot of room in the back of the van. We were going to take a limo but it is probably going to work out better/cheaper to drive ourselves to Ohare.

HI everyone! We're fighting colds and some yucky stomach virus here  ....so i'm hoping we're getting it all out of our system before the cruise!! Its CRAZY windy over here today...so a good day to stay inside all day.

Sounds like everyone has been busy! I've gotta get movin on my little projects! Was hoping to make a fish extender this weekend, but got stuck on the couch! Oh well...

I'm impressed with all you early walkers...sorry...i'm a sleeper in gal!

Gals, the dresses look beautiful! I'm probably gonna be a little less formal - can't justify getting such dressy clothes when we probably won't wear them again.

I'll have to see what kind of lime green paraphenilia i can find....

Have a great week everyone!

Ditto here....everyone is sick and I lost my voice last Thursday and it is still gone today. Much to my DH's delight! :rotfl:

My 9 YO DD Susan had to miss the first day of the season opener for the competitive swim team she is on. She did swim this morning and did great...I am so proud! :cloud9:

I will be marking all of our carry on's with lime green Mickey head tags I made. I will even have a special PURPLE head on mine!

Still no docs:scared1: But I know they will be here any day. DD has been sick this weekend, kept me away from the thread.

GOOD NEWS:banana:

My Mom gave me my Christmas gift early....... a new printer, yes, our door will be filled with even more magnets than before.

Will try to start planning to pack this week. Will see how that goes:rotfl2: !

I went shopping today - I have the same feeling. I didn't really like anything I saw and I just can't justify spending the money on something I don't love to wear it for just a few hours. I did buy a shawl - just in case it is chilly in the show or dinner. I am still trying to find some clothes for my son to wear. I am trying to pack less, plan less, & stress less on this trip. Part of me wants this trip to hurry up and get here and part of me wants time to slow down so that I can get everything done. I find myself thinking about this trip more and more everyday!

Good morning people:goodvibes

Well my intentions of packing this week-end were only intentions:rotfl: :rotfl:

Didn't even looked at the suitcases!!!!:rotfl2:

So much to do in our backyard, cleaning up the garden for winter, cutting the dead flowers and everything else. But now, that's done;)

This morning, the kids are back in school and mom is back on the planet "cruise":lmao: :woohoo:

I hope to receive our doc. this week!!:goodvibes

yndygo, I hope the snow stopped since yesterday........otherwise my dh will want to go to your home to do some snow board:goodvibes

Being formally from MA, I just have to say to my MA cruisemates, GO RED SOX!!!!

We did it.

For the DCL Veterans - I did online check in already. The same forms are included in our boarding packet. I do not need to fill those out again..right?

PLease confirm - I only need to fill out the Bahamas immigration forms and sign the cruise contract and have it with us.

Thanks

Instead of paying 85+ dollars to rent tuxes for the boys, I found tuxes for boys on Ebay for between 15-17 Dollars! Wow! I am still going to rent one for DH, he doesn't want to carry his suit anyway! I really don't want to buy black dress shoes for the boys. Do you think it will be OK for them to wear a pair of new black sneakers with those tuxes. It is way more practical.

Thanks Robin, we are quite excited here in Mass!  The Patriots also won on Sunday! My DH is excited because he originally thought he would miss the football game on the cruise, but it is their "buy" week:yay:

Correct Cheryl. That's the beauty of the online check-in. Just print out the one sheet and sign it to turn in at check-in, along with the Bahamas immigration form.

I'm not sure how old your boys are, but this will be the first year that my DS will even be wearing a suit, and only because he has two from Bar Mitzvah's this year. The past few years, he just wore a button down shirt and tie, with a pair of dockers. This year, we will all be more "formal" as we happen to have the clothes hanging in our closets.

New black sneakers may look fine. I'm sure my DS would approve!

Cheryl, I hadn't even thought of shoes for Connor. Personally, I think black sneakers would be fine. I think that's what I will do - how often do kids wear dress shoes? I bought Connor a pair one year and he wore them once before he outgrew them. That was 40 bucks down a rathole, in my humble opinion! I am so jealous that you got the boys tuxes and that your husband will wear one too!!

Though I am from CT, we are die hard Red Sox fans so I am with all you MA cruisers! I can't wait for the World Series. I shouldn't admit this, but our son was taught early to be a Sox fan- his favorite saying when anyone asks him about the team is "Red Sox rule, Yankees drool!"

Lauri,
Thanks for the info. My boys are 3 and 5. The Girls and I 9 and 7 have fancy dresses to wear and I am really hoping for an awesome picture all of us dressed up. Even if Eric and Adam only wear them once I don't feel too bad about 15.00 vs 85 that the rental place wanted for boys tuxes. What a scam!

Has anyone who has cruised before had to put their 3 year old in Flounder's Reef? My DS turned 3 two months ago, and potty training is not going well. I don't think the new baby has helped with that. Are there other kids that age in the nursery or is it mostly babies? Thanks.

We got our documents today, it's official! :cool1:

Well my spending spree has officially started....Target, Office Depot, Costco and much more. New camera, memory sticks, magnetic paper, sippy cups, extra binkies etc.

If it is not too late we would like participate in the fish extender game. We are in cabin 2646 on 2.

Also would it be possible to post an update in one spot of all the activities we have planned, room tours, meet and greet etc.

Look forward to meeting everyone.:hippie:

Heynow

I want my documents. Was hoping they would be here when we got back last night but they weren't.

My son got his uniform for baseball in the spring. He got a Yankees uniform and of couse he was upset about it. He got in the van and tossed his hat down saying he didn't want to be no yankee and how Grandpa would be upset. Today was sports shirt day at school. He proudly wore his Red Sox T this morning.

YES PEOPLE THEY ARE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just go our documents today!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

This is soooooooooo real now!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

   No documents here yet. But we're still coming with you.

BTW, our cruise is pretty much sold out. I tried to upgrade today, but there are not really any rooms available. But the website is showing everything still available as a GTY (except Cat. 10).
