November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

I'm glad I'm not the only one who'll be misty-eyed as we board the ship!!!!! There is nothing better than seeing those looks of pure joy and excitement on my kids' faces, especially our teenage daughter, who is on the brink of being too cool to be so unguarded, and yet freely admits how excited she is about this cruise.

Our DD's have been emailing and ours is so excited about meeting your DD. She too is on the brink of becoming WAY TOO COOL to be seen with us much anymore!

Good morning people!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

What do you all have plan today for this cruise?????

I think we are going to start packing today:rolleyes: :rotfl:

Stimpy, yes, we are flying out of Islip the day before and staying in Port Canaveral overnight. Just seems easier for the kids. I have DD 7 yrs DS 3 yrs and DS 5 months.

Maybe we'll see you at the airport :upsidedow We're flying down on that Friday too and staying at the Country Inn& Suites in Pt Canaveral. I think our flight is around 3:30-ish. We wanted DS to get that school day in for attendance.

Karen,

Yes, our DD is really happy that she'll have a ready-made friend on this cruise; I think the two of them have really clicked over the 'net. I have a feeling we might have to schedule time on their social calendars if we want to see them!!

My goal for today is to get a fish extender and pick up our DIS-tag surprises. That's my cruise goal. Packing will be next weekend. I still have my list from last year, and aside from forgetting DD's underwear somehow, we had everything we need and used pretty much everything we took, so I'm going to use the same plan this year. (And, just in case you need to know, they do sell underwear on the ship!!!)

My non-cruise goal is to choose new brick for the house we are building. The Architectural Control Committee would not approve our first choice because a house a few doors down has the same brick. You won't even be able to see the two houses at the same time (except maybe from an upstairs window across the street), so we are a bit frustrated, but what can you do???

My DD has off that day for Veterans Day, so we are leaving on the 1:00. Staying at the Radisson at Port. Everyone is getting very excited! Have to start to think about packing this week.

I have a few things to put in the suitcases now,but I think a majority will be packed the week up to the cruise. I'm hoping my neighbor started on my fish extender. I will ask her when I get back from vacation this weekend.

Will it be warm enough for shorts most of the day on the cruise?

8530 - not so brain dead hubby.....

Check!! Thanks for the update!
I fell off the face of the planet since my post back - but I'm getting right on it... will do 2 variations for you guys - one with just cabin number, one with cabin # and "the Roy. O Disney Suite" on it - you choose which you like :)

I'll post a link to a download in just a few... :)

I would love to have one also if it isnt too much trouble. If not, our room Cabin is #8056. Now to even be a more pain in the kneck is it possible to add "The Tuckers" in the middle of Mickeys head?

Absolutely!!

I'll post a link shortly.

Woody,
I have a private list going for those participants in DIS Fairies and Dis Tag.

I do recall a general list way back. YNDY had a chart of kids by ages or was it Frenchsnowwhite. I don't recall.

That would be me - and I've been slacking!!!
Non-Dis life getting in the way!!

I'll try to get it updated and reposted tomorrow morning! :)

Okay, let's see what sort of links DIS lets me put up...

There are two options, I'm linking the one under the specific file, underneath is a URL you can copy and paste into your browser instead if that doesn't work - either one *should* get you to the download site to get the .jpg files. But I'm not sure what DIS will let me post here linkwise.

If you can't get the picture, PM me and I'll figure out a way to either email it to you or put it up someplace else.
The file size is kind of large, so that it looks decent printed rather than fuzzy. (Although the ship is a bit fuzzy no matter what I do, had a hard time finding a ship image to work with.)

Let me know if you want any changes!!

Thanks.

Good morning people!!!!!:goodvibes

Its a beautifull sunny day here in Montreal Canada...but nothing close to what we will be in..........yes! 19 days!!!!!:rotfl:

Will it be warm enough for shorts most of the day on the cruise?

It was plenty warm, but not too hot, last year. The only place I was ever chilly was the theater. Even on deck at night I was fine, except one night I grabbed a light jacket. And I'm typically the cold one in my family. My kids always wore shorts except for at dinner and were never cold. Oh, and it was a bit nippy in the water our second time at Castaway Cay if I recall (it was windy and cloudy), but we still had a fabulous time. The first CC day was perfect. (Too bad we don't have a double dip cruise this time -- we loved it!)

I don't know if Eastern weather differs from Western weather, though, and last year was a Western. Does anyone else know?

Average high temperatures in November:
Orlando, 79 degrees F
Castaway Cay, 80
St. Maarten, 85
St. Thomas, 88

Less than 3 weeks now!!!

Hi everyone,

I've returned from my business trip and finally had a minute to check our thread. Holy cow, people - we are up six pages from when I left! Plus we had a new person join - welcome Ybells! I can't believe I missed so much!!

I'm so bummed, though, because we didn't get our documents yet- time to get on the phone with the travel agent. :)

I would love to walk with everyone in the mornings because I am definitely a morning person (DH will want to sleep in) but my 5 year old inherited the morning person gene from me and will undoubtedly be up. He would probably love to walk too, but I won't torture the rest of the group with a talkative child at that hour of the morning. :rotfl:

I can't believe how close we are now - time for me to get packing. I have tons of stuff just lying around my bedroom waiting to be organized and packed. By the way, I was at Target last week and they had something called "Dropps" - individual packets of detergent - so if anyone is looking for take along clothes detergent for doing laundry you may want to check it out. They had the "free" kind, which we have to use due to sensitive skin, and I didn't want to risk buying on board in case they don't carry the free detergents.

Hope everyone is well!
Michele
