November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Hi Oceangirl, and welcome. I will also have a 13 y/o DS on the cruise. He's been on two previous cruises, but he's a little nervous about being in the teen club this year.

Lauri

Hi Lauri,

That's great. My 13 y/o is also not so sure about the teen club and will be happy to know there's at least one other boy his age to hang out with. Maybe before the cruise, we can get them "acquainted" or share names or something, so they can meet up on the ship and feel that they already know at least one other person who will be at the teen club. Hopefully, they'll both feel more comfortable that way. I'm hoping they will be able to use Ocean Quest (10-14 year olds) a fair amount as that sounds like a lot of fun.

Susan.

Thanks, I will do that. flymv: I see you have a 14-year old son. Will he be 14 on the November cruise? Sounds like he's the right age for "hanging out" with my guys....!

Both of my boys will be on the cruise, they will be 9 & 15 at cruise time...

Sounds like we'll have at least a few boys in the same age groups which is definitely a plus, particularly for those of us "newbies" whose kids are a bit unsure of what to expect. No guarantee that they will bond or want to hang out together, but one can always hope......!

On another topic, does anyone else find it hard to locate this thread most of the time? It keeps slipping into the back pages, but I guess there's not much we can do about it other than to keep posting periodically. TTFN!

Well, maybe we should keep it alive until we cruise:goodvibes

What excursions will you make???

We want to do the St-John's island tour and the Orient Bay Beach in St-Martin:hippie:

We want to do a tour of St. Martin with Joyce Prince and end with a few hours at a beach (preferrably not topless, though I understand that's hard to avoid even on the Dutch side now). Then on St. Thomas, we're planning a daysail to St. John to snorkel with Captain Bobby & Karen on the Rumbaba. I've been doing lots of research on these boards!! What is everyone else planning, or thinking about doing?

is there any families on the nov 10-17 cruise with children similar ages to mine?
dd chloe will be 4 yrs old and
ds keaton will be 6 (almost 7)

this is our first cruise. i'm hoping they will like the kids club so we can have SOME time for us :)
we are doing 3 days at WDW too. I am hoping for some downtime with dh :)

we are definetly doing a ferry or boat to st john and to trunk bay. our friends vacation in st john every year and highly recommended we skip st thomas and head to st john. it is more our style. plus with young kids we won't be shopping, etc and they (the kids) will be happiest on the beach. keaton MAY be old enough to snorkel (at 6 yrs old) but chloe will not be so i'm not sure how we'll swing the snorkeling thing since one of us (dh or i) will need to be on shore with her. (she will be 4)

st maarten, i have no idea what to do. not shopping. i think we may rent a jeep and tour the island on our own and stop at orient beach or another nice beach.
any beach recommends? i don't care whether it is a nude beach or not.

HI Leslie.....We will have along with us DD Gracie who will be 4.5, DNiece who will be 4 and D Nephew who will be 8. This will be our 6th DCl cruise, Gracie's and my nephew's second, and my niece's first! You will love it...and so will your kids!
We too are hoping they will hit the kids clubs...Gracie did not want to have anything to do with them, and quite frankly we had tons of fun with her. But we are hoping since her cousin...and best friend...will be with her, they mgiht spend some time in there!

how fun.
we were wishing we had friend or family going on the cruise with us for social reasons. our kids are very social so i'm not tooooooooooo worried. but my dd (4) is sorta unpredictable so i guess we will just wait and see.
what excursions are you looking into doing with young kids. i see alot of the disney ones are for 8 and up. i definetly want to do the sting ray one on CC with my son. My dd Chloe will be too young and not allowed to participate.

This will be our first trip to Florida and on a Disney Cruise. I am a 28 year old mother of a daughter (will be 5 at time of cruising) and a son (will just turn 3 at time of cruise). We are excited to experience the DCL after hearing so many great things. We will be spending the week prior at the Wilderness Lodge in WDW and visiting all the parks. We look forward to seeing you all onboard!

Welcome, feel free to ask as many questions as you need. I have only cruised twice before but have been to WDW too many times too count, Wilderness lodge atleast five or six times. Welcome

Oy!!! Has anyone noticed that the price of most cabins jumped about $700 overnight (we are 2 adults, a teen, and a child). Last night must have been popular for booking this cruise, as the cabins that have been showing available in our category (9) are now all gone. Lots of people want to join us for the fun!

Welcome Skye00!

Lauri

Oops. Just realized I put in the Western and not Eastern. Things are status quo.

Welcome to all the newest cruisers on our thread!

Sorry I haven't been checking in, life has a funny way of interferring with my Disney addiction! :lmao: Hope everyone is well!
