November 1, 2014 Fantasy Eastern Cruise

This is our first Disney cruise and I just heard about the meet and greet program (fish extenders). How can we join this group for the Nov 1st cruise?

If someone can provide me information and what we need to do to prepare that would be great.

There are four of us on the cruise. Myself and my husband and our two girls (11 and 6 years old). We are surprising them with the cruise.

Thank you!

26 October (todays date) means that I officially have six years and 11 months left in my working life before I retire to something more fun.

It also means that we are just a YEAR out from the cruise (plus a few days I suppose) but still looking forward to this cruise, as a gift to myself and my extended family of children and grandchildren.

In the last few months, my nephews wife has qualified as a Disney Planner, and to celebrate, we are doing a long weekend at Disney World the last day of February this next year, and the first few days in March. Rooms are booked at the new Art of Animation Resort with two "Cars" family suites holding six in one suite and five in the other all extended family. Diane and I will be there with our Daughter Jennifer, her husband Dan and the two Grandkids Owen and Evan, who will be two and four at the time. The other suite has my Nephew Bob, his wife (the Disney planner) Nikki, their two girls and Bob's mother, my wifes sister Elaine. I look forward to taking the grandboys to Disney for a few days at the Magic Kingdom and Animal Park, to get photos of them. Nikki and Bob and the girls are then taking a short Disney Cruise after the weekend in the parks.

I'll be sending out more invitations to our Disney Cruise on November 1st, to friends who have not decided yet if to join us or not. Reminding them we are a year out from the event and urging them to make plans to join us.

Look forward to getting closer to the cruise and making some plans to meet some of you folks for the sail-away party. Look the the big guy, with the even bigger grin on his face...that'll be me.

Hi. I'm Lisa from NJ. At the time we sail, I will be 45, DH (53), DD (14). We are sailing with you on 11/01/14. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise. We sailed on the Magic in 2008-Western and the Wonder in 2011-Mexican Riviera. Looking forward to the Fantasy this time. Originally, we planned to sail this week, but are going to WDW instead.

We have participated in meet and greets, recipe exchanges, and fish extenders before and would want to join in again if anyone is interested.

Also, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Tom, love your countdown to retirement! I "retired" this past June, but still working more hours than I would like - usually 18-22 per week. I will have to cut back the first of the year as I need to make less money per month than Social Security allows. I'm 62, and I don't want to return any money I work so hard to earn!

Congrats to your nephew's wife. Sounds like a wonderful family celebration is in the works at WDW in a few months.

We will definitely have to have a DIS meet on the day we board the Fantasy.

Three months from today, Dave and I will board the beautiful Disney Magic for a b2b2b - 11 days!!! Our plan is to leave Michigan and arrive at Disney's Vero Beach resort on 1/25 for two days, followed by 11 days aboard the Magic, then two days in St. Augustine, then four days at Disney's Hilton Head resort, then Morgantown, WV to see two of our six grandkids, then home! Can't wait!

Hi Tom! David and I will be at VWL from 02/25 - 03/04 so let me know if you would like to try and meet up at some point - would love to give it a try.

:Welcome: Lisa and Family! We are going to have a great time!

Well, happy to report that our Food and Wine trip plus Dream cruise was a blast - hot and muggy in FL when we were there but it only rained one day. Considering we have had snow most days this week, I should not be whining! The Dream was short and sweet - but I guess it is only 4 days so what can I expect?? We had one of the forward facing porthole rooms - very interesting and there really is more floor space up there. The only souvenir I brought home was a huge head cold - I think it is going to explode. So everyone take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sorry Gail, I'm not sure what VWL is? But if you are going to be in the area, I'd love to find time to meet you and David. We'll probably be going to Disney the afternoon of the 28th of February and headed back to the house on the afternoon of March 3rd. I'm sure I could find sometime to 'sneak away' from all the screaming little kid noise to meet you somewhere that grown-ups meet.

Lets make plans! It would be nice to know someone else who is on the boat with us later that year...

My bad - I speak in abbreviations way too much. Villas at Wildnerness Lodge! We would love to meet up as well. We can be very open as to what and when - I have a few dining ressies made but those are easy to change. The only thing that I really want to be sure to do while we are there is to get to Fantasmic so I am certain we can work around that since I think that is pretty much every evening.

OMG everyone - one year from to'now' we will all be on the boat and at the safety drill! I just remembered! Sure seems like a long way off.

I have a FE question. I have been doing FE's for years and am sort of curious about something. I also don't want to ruffle any feathers so please, no one get offended at my question or at any responses. We only ever do one cabin gift which probably would go over better with a group of just adults. Would anyone be interested in a group that was just adults? I don't want to take away from the families (and of course, anyone can do both or whatever they want) but would anyone be interested in just an adult group?

OK - have a good weekend everyone!!

I have to believe that FE= Fish Extender....right? You and your darn "shorthandspeak"....

Welcome, Nicole and Family!!! :)

We, too, were booked on an un-sailed Wonder cruise for a January 2014 cruise. Turned it into a b2b2b on the Magic in January-February 2014. Looking forward to checking out the Magic in early 2014. Really looking forward to this Fantasy cruise.

Hello fellow cruiser, we just got off the fantasy and are at the airport to head home. We booked our next cruise for nov 1st 2014. Question is there a favebook page for this group? I hope I am in the correct dis page lol. Thanks

:welcome: I presume she was all decked out I her Christmas finery when you sailed last week? We did a B2B several years ago on the Magic and went from not decorated to decorated - I still can not believe how much they did during the turnover. Absolutely amazing. Plus we watched them assemble the gingerbread house while we were waiting for lunch and during the week.

Take care all - we are less than a year!!!!!!

Thank you for the fblink. No jelly fish water was beautiful. The ship was decorated as a surprise we were not expecting it. They said it was only half way when we got on and they were going to finish when they turned it around. We had a great time and looking forward to meeting new friends on this cruise.

We're in! Just got back from an OKW getaway with NO park visits (not sure how, but we did it!)...

...and now we can be excited to start the cruise countdown.

So...any suggestions about whether we should two days at the parks BEFORE or AFTER the cruise?? popcorn::
