November 1, 2014 Fantasy Eastern Cruise

I say parks before, but that's just me!

We're in! Just got back from an OKW getaway with NO park visits (not sure how, but we did it!)...

...and now we can be excited to start the cruise countdown.

So...any suggestions about whether we should two days at the parks BEFORE or AFTER the cruise?? popcorn::

I was looking at booking the cruise for November 15, but since it's so close to thanksgiving, I'm thinking this one will work best for us :)

This will be my third disney cruise, but first 7 night cruise! I plan on booking in January, once AAA announces their perks :)

I would say before. We just got off the Dream last Thursday, and did AK the next day, then drove home the following day. It was a bit too much, especially after getting off the cruise.

We have done it both ways. I like doing the parks first. Two different paces. The cruises are much more chill.

That was our thought...wear ourselves out at a park or two, then unwind with the cruise... :cool2:

Hi everyone!

We were on the Thanksgiving Fantasy cruise last week and rebooked while onboard for this week. So excited to go again! I'm having withdrawals this week from the chocolates on my pillow and the nightly towel animals!!! lol!

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Good morning everyone!

My wife and I decided that we would do something neat and totally unexpected for our kids and my niece for part of their Christmas this year. While we would have like to have booked something during the summer months (my wife is a school teacher), it was just more expensive than what we wanted to pay right now and we knew it would probably be more crowded than this November cruise. So, here we are.

My kiddos will be 3 and 11 when we sail, and my niece will be 12. My daughter, the three year old, loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and anything Mickey/Minnie. My son, 11, and my niece will be absolutely blown away. Not only is this our first Disney Cruise, it's our first cruise period. Our motto is go big or go home. :thumbsup2

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated! Looking forward to sailing the open seas with everyone!!

So EXCITED!!

:wizard:

This will be our third Disney Cruise. We started to sail when I became pregnant with our baby girl as the park would be too much for me. Now I can't get the kids to want to go back to the parks until we sail on all four ships so Dream will follow. We are really looking forward to the new locations on this one cruise.

Darren, Cristina (myself), Celly (18 months at time of sailing), Chris (7), Deja (14) and Gma will be joining us.
We look forward to meeting you all in 2014:cheer2:

Any tips on cheapest ways to get to and from Orlando airport would be appreciated. We plan to fly in Saturday and fly back home the next Saturday. We haven't added the airport transfers to our reservation because I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal.

Much depends on your party size as far as cost goes but my first comment (and your mileage may vary as there a many considerations) are you sure you don't want to come in Friday night? Weather can play a huge factor in flight cancellations besides the crew issues one can encounter and then mechanical issues. But, that isn't what you asked.

I would price out a rental car (it is a pretty straighforward drive) as well as a limo/towncar company and then just DCL's bus. What is so nice about DCL is you don't have to mess with your luggage - you put the tags on before you leave home and it gets pulled and bussed to the ship. It actually works that way on the way home as well so long as you use one of their participating airlines. Luggage out Friday evening and you don't have to mess with anything but your carry-ons until you get back to your home airport. For my husband, the luggage handling is worth the 'price of admission'. Just takes careful planning that you have everything you need for the morning.

We are a family of 5 and found that a car service was cheaper than DCL bus. We used Happy Limo in November to the port. It also included a 15 stop at a grocery store. On our returned we opted for the extra cost of DCL bus so we could do on board airline check in and not worry about our luggage.

Hi everyone! I just got off the Wonder this morning. It was our first cruise and my daughters and I enjoyed it. Can't wait to cruise again!!!

Sorry Gail, I'm not sure what VWL is? But if you are going to be in the area, I'd love to find time to meet you and David. We'll probably be going to Disney the afternoon of the 28th of February and headed back to the house on the afternoon of March 3rd. I'm sure I could find sometime to 'sneak away' from all the screaming little kid noise to meet you somewhere that grown-ups meet.

Lets make plans! It would be nice to know someone else who is on the boat with us later that year...

Tom

Tom - are you plans still to be in Disney World at the end of the month? We are still going to be at Wilderness Lodge from the 25th through the 3rd so if you would like to meet up with us, let me know and we can pick a day, time and place.

Anyone else going to be there? Would love to meet you as well!

Hi everyone I just booked our FIRST Cruise (so excited) for myself and my husband and my son, 8yrs and daughter 6yrs. It will be a surprise to them. I cannot wait. I am trying to find out about Fish extender program, this sounds so much fun :-)

Hi everyone! We just booked our first Disney cruise. We are going for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. There will be 14 of us total (6 kids - ages 4-9) and 8 adults. We can't wait. Its the first cruise for many of us -- so I'll be soaking up as much information and tips as I can get.
