November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

Thanks ;) I so badly want to believe the clubs are completely fine, and I should have no worries. I know DD had fun the last time we went on the cruise, but she cried she didn't want to go back many times, but that is because she is shy (I think) :confused3

Its a very large ratio of kids to counselors. I am the co-director of a daycare center, and ours is just 3 kids to one counselor/staff. But I also have 80% children with autism or with medical issues, so that is why our low ratios. Numbers of 20 kids to 1 staff sounds crazy to me!! They could easily organize a coo and overthrow a counselor!! Make 'em walk the plank and all....pirate: J/K

Sorry to sound like a paranoid parent. I really don't have much concern over the staff, but what can't be controlled, like the crazy kids!:rolleyes1

My DD is on the shy side at times, but once she is comfortable she just jumps right in. Perhaps they can meet at the meet and greet and go in knowing someone...might be easier for both...I also think one of my DD friends from school will be on this cruise...so she may get to have 2 friends....Can't wait:banana:

Mom, I completely understand. Right now I'm the "paranoid" parent/advisor for 35 swimmers. I have to look out for everyone of them , including my daughter. The kids are great. It's the parents that worry me!

Well, I just finished printing cruise magnets. That was fun! Can't wait to place them on the door of our DCL "Pup Suite" !

Dh had to hide them to keep the secret going.

I am at school today & tomorrow. I hope to get back to the Cricut & finish my scrapbooking items.

How's everone's packing going?

It was VERY cool to see the luggage tags. NOW it's REAL!!!

You're packing already...I haven't even had time to make the list.....got my t shirts today....so now I can print my magnets and make the tshirts.....I'm just taking one day at a time.....work is so busy that once I leave home in the morning, my day flies and I'm exhausted when I get home.......I'm starting to worry about the let down after the cruise is over.....you know like when you planned your wedding....you planned and planned and then it was done and you felt like you were missing something......:dance3:

mindelmouse & Mom2PrincessesLinSy - did you two join the yahoo group? We have a database of all the names of those coming to the meet and greet, and the ages of all our kids. What are the ages of your girls? If you're not already a member, PM me with your email address and I'll send you an invite. Once you can get in you can add your info to ours!

Me too! I'm almost glad the cruise isn't here yet, because I don't want it to be over. :sad1: But I figure if I take the time to enjoy each moment, that it won't all feel like it passed by in a few seconds time. :thumbsup2

I am so excited. And I'm almost more excited to be spending all this time with my parents, and to see their reactions to the cruise and everything. They've never been on a cruise before and they are just so dang excited. They sound like little kids when I talk to them. I'm really looking forward to it. My parents live in Chicago and I live in Houston, so I don't get to see them all the time. This cruise is definitely going to be worth every penny. :cheer2:

The UPS man just left and brought us our cruise docs:cool1: Only 18 more days till we leave for Disney!:woohoo: We are staying the week at Pop Century before the cruise. Jenny,

I'm not a member of the yahoo group. I only found this like 2 weeks ago from the passporter site....I didn't know about these sites....I have a DD that is 7 and a DS that is 7.

Fed Ex just came to my door and brought...........the wristbands. Wow, that was fast. Last time I checked the status, they were shipping from Hong Kong. I'll get them sorted and in the mail in the next few days.

In 3 weeks I'll be on a plane!:cool1:

We check into Pop Century 10/30 prior to cruise....maybe we'll see you there !! Looking for those Green wristbands !

What is everyone doing about "sodas" etc on the trip? Are there drink packages etc? I prefer the boys didn't drink soda all day, but what about lemonade etc?

The sodas are pretty much included, unless you order it in the bar and/or from room service, I believe. I'm just going to order soda with dinner (included in cruise price), and other than that I'll just head to the soda station. I *might* pick up a 12 pack in Key West for us to have in our room, but I'm mainly sticking to the soda from the dining rooms and the drink stations since they're included. :thumbsup2

on the sodas. I am going to try to get a case of water though...I like to drink water and my kids like to have a bottle of water by their bed at night...:cheer2:

There are LOTS of kids in our group that are that age! My DD is 8 and DS is 6... so there will be tons of intros during our meet and greet that first day!! :thumbsup2

Unless you NEED your pepsi products there is plenty of "free" soda on board.
DH and I bring our re-fillable mugs from the Disney resorts and use those at the beverage bar on deck 9. (bigger than the little cups, and have a lid, so no bedtime spilling!)
The ship water is not all that bad. It is tasty compared to the water at the WDW resorts. I won't drink that stuff even ice cold :scared:

Our cruise docs are on the truck for Delivery!! They will be there when we get home from work today!!

You do realize that kiddos can lose their glasses at lunch? This will happen at least 1 time per school year. And the bags will end up in the dumpster outside the school. The dumpster won't smell pretty and it ain't easy getting bags out of it. But it can be done if you have a good chair to lean into the dumpster!:scared1:

IF it is your kid, here's hoping they tell you quickly

and pray that THE bag of trash w/ your child's glasses is near the top of the dumpster. Make sure you wear latex gloves!

And wash the glasses well when you find them. Lots of Dawn diswashing liquid will clean them well.

wuv tigger

PS don't be too hard on your kid if/when they do this. The teachers assure me that the kid WON'T lose them again that way.
