I am not sure if I will get lucky or not but I have added a night onto our vacation to hope to get into holiday spirit. We will be traveling to Disney Nov 2-8, 2014. I was wondering everyone's opinion on if we only get one night to see (Friday) which should we do MVMCP or HS light show. My kids are 11 girl and 8 boy.

We usually visit Disney in October but we are trying something new this year and I am hoping to see a little holiday magic. Hopefully we will be able to go closer to the holidays in the future at least once.

Thanks Jim:cool2:

You could do both, I think. It should be dark by 5-ish at that time of year. Go to HS for the day, stay to see Osborne Lights, then go to MVMCP. Yes, you could get into MK at 4 for the party, but it doesn't "officially" start until 7pm, I think. If you were there around 6-ish, you'd still be ahead of the crowd AND be able to do both events.

I disagree. They don't turn the lights on until about 6, and you really need to spend some time looking at them. (I've easily spent over half an hour.) And for the amount of money MVMCP costs, I would want to make sure that I'm there for the entire time. I like them both so it would be a tough choice for me. Maybe ask your kids what they think?

I would say MVMCP over Osborne lights, simply because the party is well a party where the lights, are beautiful, but I have seen other light displays as impressive.

The party will have special fireworks and parade which makes it worthwhile to me.

Thanks all for input. I really don't want to rush hence the reason i am only picking one. Two years ago we did Mickeys not so scary while it was very cool, my kids were more drawn to the short lines on all the rides. So last year I asked if they wanted to go and they said we could skip it.

I am leaning towards Osborne Light show and waiting til I can get BLT for my stay for Mickeys xmas party.

I'm not absolutely positive but I believe I heard that they may not have the osborne lights at the studios this year. It is a rumor..nothing official yet though.

In the past, we have done both. They are very different. We really enjoyed the Osborne Lights. We easily spent more the an hour just enjoying the display. During Thanksgiving week it gets pretty crowed. The area does thin out some after the initial lighting. The MVMCP was nice but over priced IMO. Have fun and don't rush. Try and find the purple cat. It is hidden somewhere in the lights.

Sounds like you've answered your own question. If your kids didn't care for MNSSHP, they probably won't like the Christmas party either since usually more posters on this board will say they like the Halloween party more than the Christmas one.

If it's the first night of Osborne Lights expect it to be more crowded than usual so it will probably take longer to see everything. Don't forget to look for the black cat. :)
