Nov. Park Hours & AP Discounts

We're going to DL November 13-20, the full week before Thanksgiving week. DH has a conference, and won't be free to join us in the parks until after 5 pm. Is anyone familar with the typical park hours that time of year?

Also, I'm an annual passholder - picked one up late last November on a business trip run to DL (work hard, play hard). Has anyone gotten AP discounts for the hotels for that time of year? When's the best time to call to ask about AP discounts -- 6 months out, 3 months out, closer to arrival date?

I love the California parks, but have never taken my family there. I can't wait to share the original magic with my daughter. . .
