Hello everyone-

Last year was my first trip to WDW with my daughter and we had the BEST time! We stayed CS but we went in August maaaaaan was it hot!!! This year I'm looking at either the 1st week of November or fist week of December mostly for lighter crowds and cooler weather. From what I've read these are good times to go. Only drawbacks I guess are shorter hours and 1 waterpark is closed, but I guess the magic hours make up 4 it and lack of people?? I'd like 2 actually see a parade or two since last year we ran from ride to ride and caught at least the fireworks!

I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who has been there at this time. Please enlighten me!!

BTW....I'm new here!!

Thanks people!!

Either time is good. Personally, I like early November. It should still be warm enough to swim then. December can be iffy, with the weather. One day it will be 80º, the next it could be 50º.

We were there last year for the 1st week of Dec. It was amazing--the lines were nil, so even with fewer hours in the park, you can get on everything you want over and over again. The place is decorated for Xmas, which is beautiful. Lots of things going on in Epcot with the holidays. Wanted to go the same time this year, but had freq flyer miles and couldn't get those dates. So, October it is!

The first week of November you will be able to hit EPCOT's food & wine festival. The first week of December, you will get to see all of the parks & resorts decorated for Christmas. It all depends on what you want to see??? I live close enough so I usually do both, but if I had to pick only one, I would go with December.

I'm biased because I've never been in November, but have been many times in early December. For what it's worth, that's my favorite time of year to visit WDW. The weather can be iffy, but for the most part, over the past several years, it's been more good than bad. The lines are very short, if there even are lines, the XMas decorations are spectacular, and The Very Merry Christmas Party at MK is my favorite Disney event of the year. My vote is for December. Good luck.

Wow now im teetering....arrrghh. The x-mas decorations are sounding really nice! How bout rides do they refurbish/shut down any rides this time of year typically?

We went second week of Dec last year, and it was a perfect time to go. The lines were non existant, except during mvmcp. And we didn't make AR's for anything except CRT. The decorations are spectacular, as only Disney can do. Also, there is the Osbourne lights at MGM, the Candlelight Processional at Epcot (so beautiful), and the parades are all Chrismassy. The weather is iffy, but not too bad. We did freeze at night, but next time we'll pack better.
When planning our next trip, I looked at November, but the prices were about $500 more for that time of year, and even more around Thanksgiving. The week after Thanksgiving and up until the week before Christmas are the cheapest. We found everything to be up and running. The only closure we saw was the early closure of MK on certain days because of the mvmcp. Everything else was open as usual! Hope this helps.

Another vote for December here but I have never been in November. Also, you must know that I prefer 30 degree to 80 degree weather, so.....that being said....

We have hit some cold nights in December but probably nothing under 50. The decorations alone will warm your heart so that you won't even notice that it's a little nippy at times in December out there anyway!

We have done both. We used to always go either in June or August, we're from the north and I like to sweat after being in Ohio's winter. Them months are really hot and crowds are nuts. One year we went in October and never will I go in the summer again. Throw in week after Thanksgiving to week before xmas are about the best times. The xmas decorations are the best I've ever seen, no matter how many times you see them, the resorts are decked to the nines too. Crowds are mininal and the weather has always been just right, not too hot or cold. Swimming was possible, though the resorts pools are heated, the Florida sun has heat in it and burns off the sometimes chilly nights and when in the late fall, the disney temps are in the low 80's, its like 90 to us northerners. Also, we go in October to catch the F&W fest and the MNSSHP. Once you do it, you'll never go back in the summer!

Lat year we went the week before thanksgiving weather was low 80's all day
no rain and the lines did not even exist. So we are going agina this year same
week which is great because the F&W ends 11/12 and jersy week ends the
same time
