Took advantage of the late MS hours and booked our one week stay at HHI for Nov! We don't need a beach on vacation - we live one mile from the Atlantic Ocean all year round...we just want to enjoy the low country low key way of life.
Am so looking forward to one week to swing in a hammock and read a buncha magazines [I read my books riding the train to/from work]. Might go sea glass hunting if we have a warm, sunny day. And I think I'm gonna do some internet surfing to find some restaurants where the locals dine like in Bluffton and surrounding environs. We enjoy the island restaurants like Signe's [gotta go there and get a key lime pound cake! - yum!] and Sea Shack - but I think we'd enjoy hunting down some off the beaten track dining opportunities.
We've invited another couple to join us, so there will be the obligatory day into Sea Pines and Harbortown - going to find the shell ring this year; and a bad weather day will be spent at the outlets.
Beyond that, it's just a great week to relax and enjoy the low country and the resort activities - and looking for Shadow. How great to have a vacation that doesn't require a lot of planning!
