Nov 8 Three day Dream cruise

word is up to 14 days from yesterday....sigh. I hate tossing all the food - we had steaks, scollops, and sausage all frozen. I am hoping for power before we leave, if not, I will have to ask friends to check on the place whilst we are away.

If you have managed to keep things chilled until now and you have a gas stove or a grill, cook it and have a feast. We've had our fair share of hurricanes and the save-the-food extravaganzas were always a small silver lining.

lol - I like it...now the propane? another issue. I have two small canisters left that are full and one that is almost empty. So, tomorrow when Cathy gets home, we will have that feast I guess. Most of what is in the freezer should actually be OK - since it is now below 40. I opened the fridge this evening - the "fresh" stuff - not so fresh. All the pickles etc are fine. Mayo etc gone. Yogurt seems to be ok (Chobani is strong stuff!)

Thank you for all the support and well wishes. Next week? We are at WDW!!! and NJ is facing a Nor'easter...great.

Can't wait to get this vacation started. We've have been cleaning up for days and haven't had time to think of anything else. The damage to our house will take months get fixed.

ya know...sometimes life is just too bizarre! So, we actually got power back Saturday night at 130am - just to have the fire department shut it off again. Why you ask? well - seems we had an electrical fire (since the whole building is electric this doesn't surprise me) and now we have to wait until the building inspector, electrician and fire department are ALL there at the SAME time to repair and turn on the power. sigh.

In the meantime - we have power to the halls and common areas - so I plug in an extension cord to my fridge...not acceptable - the association doesn't want the bill!>!>

I did clean out the fridge - we didn't really loose that much - some yogurt, small amount of sausage, and scallops. The rest is ok. It has been under 45 most days and nights - so the inside of the fridge was the same temp as the room! The steaks will be feasted upon tonight! With much wine!!

We are hoping that the stars align and the three entities that are necessary will be present to return power to all the building.

In the meantime, I am almost done with my last shift before we leave. Cathy has to work today then we are on our way!!! Power or not!

We are going to be out of the house all day tomorrow as Election Judges (6am - 8pm), then flying out Wed. It will be great to see you all!

We fly out 12:55 a.m. Thursday morning arriving into Orlando at 9:15 a.m. Headed straight to PC on the DCL bus. Hopefully we can get there by about 11 a.m.

We will probably have to join someone's family with a low boarding number......

How strict are they about the reserved boarding times? I have never sailed with a cruise line that does that and I don't remember doing it the last time I sailed DCL. I did my online check in a week or two ago and got stuck with a later boarding time but will probably get to the port earlier like you...

Well, I am platinum so I can go anytime, but I know people who have checked in earlier than their designated time and they haven't been strict about it. Never heard of them turning away anyone when they got to the port.

I just checked with Disney and since we are using their transfer service from the airport to the port, we can board whenever we arrive--it doesn't matter what time I selected during online checkin.

I am traveling with my friend Janis who is a DC pro and I am glad as this is my first DC !! LOL Looking forward to the FE and meeting up with everyone!! C-ya on board!! Terri

We love Janis! Can't wait to meet you. If our planes time it right, we might just possibly meet up at MCO for the same bus to the port. We land around 9:15 a.m. I think. I remember Janis saying you are getting in about the same time.
