:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You won't have the ship completely to yourself.:thumbsup2 Me and my family will extending our 6 days at WDW by taking our first cruise with you. We are super excited and I'm spending a ton of time creeping the boards looking for tips. We are really looking forward to participating in the fish extenders. If anyone has hints for first time cruisers send them my way. I'll be traveling with DFi, DD16, DD15, DS9 & my parents in two Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms. We can't wait :dance3:

well - I guess I could share a bit (:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) Welcome aboard!!! I was beginning to get a complex...:laughing:

FE's....whew...there are links (I don't know where) that describe them, I bought mine and usually try to pick something Disney that isn't food based. There are so many allergies out there...I think it is just safer. Something small, because sometimes the groups get pretty large, and folks have to get these things to and from the ship!

We booked this while on the Dream last week. Not quite sure if we will keep these dates or not however. With the youngest DS starting middleschool next year, not sure about taking him out yet.

Welcome to the cruise. Hope you keep the dates but I understand not wanting to pull your son out of school. We choose to do it every trip because me and my oldest DD don't do well with extreme crowds and to be honest I like to save the money and not go during a peak season. We will end up pulling my daughters out for 7 days of their sophmore and junior year for this trip. The bonus is that it encourages them to get good grades the rest of the year and not miss any school on "I have a stomach ache aka a test" days. My son will be in 4th grade and for some reason that doesn't seem like a big deal to me. We get as much work beforehand as possible and I make my son do some special projects. We also drive so they have plenty of time to work in the car since we're about an hour north of you in Maine. Hope to see you on the cruise!

My DD age 6 and DH age :rolleyes1 will be on the Nov 8th cruise too. What is an FE exchange? We were on the Wonder two year ago. DD was 4 and cried when we had to get off the ship:sad2: We cant wait until NOVEMBER :banana:

I wasn't sure what an FE exchange was, but found this thread. Is that correct?

I wasn't sure what an FE exchange was, but found this thread. Is that correct?

might be - I didn't read the whole thread. Basically an FE (fish extender) is a gift exchange begun my Debbie (EpcotKilterFan) in 2005. Outside every cabin is a small mail hook this hook is shaped like a fish on the classic ships, a fish, starfish or...I can't recall what concierge level is on the Dream and Fantasy. Anyway - one places a small hanging device on the fish with pouches (as many as you care to make - or one for each person in the cabin - or what ever you decide. A list is generated here on the Dis which has all the cabin numbers, dis name and sometimes the real world name of the participant. Sometime during the cruise you pass out gifts to every person or cabin (again, your choice) and you will receive gifts from the others on the list.

I usually do my deliveries in the middle of the night - walking around the ship and checking out all the door decorations is really a nice way to end a day. I usually give one gift per cabin (that can be shared by all). Sometimes I will give separate gifts depending on budget.

The gifts can be purchased, made, or specific to your local area. They usually reflect something Disney, but again - not required. I have gotten some really nice items, many that I continue to use for every cruise. I have gotten laundry bags, pens, pencils, decorative magnets for the door, candy, wine, port, gum, "emergency care baggies" that contain everything from sewing kits to rubber bands - all useful!, clothes pins, picture frames, window clings, and the list goes on and on!

I think that about covers the FE exchanges....since I am not sure who is going to be on this cruise - I haven't offered to manage the list yet - I am currently doing three lists, and am a little overwhelmed by it. All three of mine are fairly short and easy - compared to the MV of the fantasy (73 cabins with over 100 people) or the first Hawaii - 98 cabins with over 200 people (:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:) I have NO idea how those organizers are keeping it all together - I can't imagine the work they have put in.

My lists are available to read, but not to modify - click the link in my signature to see them.

Cayla

That sounds like a blast. :thumbsup2 How big are the bags you leave out? Do you include a card to know who you got what from? or is it all anonymous?

That would keep me occupied until the trip occurs. You can put a lot of thought into your gifts:rolleyes:
