The restaurants were probably the area of the trip that we were nearly everyone looked forward to, and for the most part, they didnt disappoint. We ate at:
Resorts:
Cinema Hall (All Star), Cape May Café for Clam Bake Buffet (Beach Club), The Mara (DAK Lodge), Pepper Market (Coronado Springs), Food and Fun Center (Contemporary), Beaches and Cream (Y&B Club) and Captain Cooks Snack Company (Polynesian).
Parks/DTD:
Pecos Bill Café (MK), Main Street Bakery (MK), Tusker House (DAK), Writers Stop (MGM), Mama Melrose (MGM), Yorkshire County (UK), Wonderland Café (Disney Quest), Misc. Booths at Food and Wine Festival (EC), McDonalds (DTD), Earl of Sandwich (DTD), Fountainview Café (EC - FW), Lotus Blossom Café (EC China), Cinderellas Royal Table for breakfast (MK), Restaurantosaurus (DAK) and Marble Slab Creamery (Off-site at The Crossroads).
I think everyone agreed that the Clam Bake Buffet at the Beach Club was out favorite meal. We made the PS that afternoon at DAK. I was not expecting much, due to the results of my question posted on these boards, but everyone was still interested. There were a great number of choices, especially for dessert love the Oreo bon bons. None of the seafood was fried, so I would highly recommend this for those watching their diet (except for the bon bons, that is!)
Also found out one can buy the zebra mousse domes at the DAK Lodge Food Court! That was a nice surprise. We also found the pastry puffs (filled with egg, cheese and sausage) at Fountainview Café to be wonderful.
Our best food deal of the trip was the discovery of the ice cream cookie sandwich at the Main Street Bakery. It is two oversized cookies (we choose sugar with m&ms) and three huge scoops of vanilla bean ice cream flattened into a big sandwich cookie. DH and I split it both times, and for $3.49, definitely filled us up!!!
Loved Earl of Sandwich! Most sandwiches are around $5, and then drinks and sides are extra. Im not a fan of hot subs (didnt realized they were toasted until we got them to the table), but they were very good. Very filling, inexpensive meal after an evening of shopping!
Well, after six trips, finally decided to try CRT. I think the group, overall, was a little but disappointed. We had a PS for 9:05, and arrived to MK extremely early. The All Star bus showed up as we were walking up, and we got right to the park. We took our time taking photos in front of the castle without people in the background, and still checked in at 8:30. We were actually seated right away! Now, maybe it was the fact that we had four adults and no children, but I think everyone was a little disappointed. Ive done several character breakfasts and would not return to this one (at least with an adult-only party). The food was good, but not great. Our service was good, but not great. Some of the princesses seemed uncomfortable interacting with us and seemed like they were not sure what to do. We did take pictures with all of them. Overall, Im glad I experienced it, but would probably not return anytime soon.
