Spending a week in Orlando and planning on a two day visit to US/IOA either Sun/Mon or Thur/Fri. Which two days would be best for smaller crowds? Thanks!

I would think both are fine since its off season.

We recently changed our dates around (to take advantage of a PIN code for our WDW resort) so now we're arriving on a Saturday (Nov. 12) and doing US/IOA Sat. - Mon.

At first I feared the parks would be CRAZY on a weekend, but I have to remember it's a non-peak time and we're staying on-site so we get FOTL access...and WWoHP is not THAT important to me/us:laughing: My kids and I are all types of giddy for Suess Landing and Marvel Super Hero Island!

Thanks for the input. My kids aren't HP fans either. We've never seen any of the movies. I hear you don't need to be a watcher of the HP movies to enjoy WWoHP. I'm leaning to the Sun/Mon dates. Thanks again all! My little guy loves Spiderman and I really enjoyed the ride when I was there some years ago!!

We have not been since they opened WWOHP. We just watched the movies since we are going next month. The movies were ok. We just wanted to understand the area better than not knowing anything.:thumbsup2

If you are a great fan of fantasy, magic, wizards and mystical/magical creatures you will like Harry Potter.

I love that type of thing so HP was a natural draw for me and the grands.

I went with someone who had only seen part of one movie and it just didn't have the same impact with them that it did with me. I understood the nuances of Moaning Myrtle in the loo, the owlery and Buckbeak. It meant nothing to the other person and could have been just generic theming.

I read the books as they came out, with the grands, then got the movies as they came out and we've watched them many, many times.
Really it is great theming but not knowing anything about the story behind it seems to me that you could go to any well themed attraction and enjoy it, maybe not as much as this exceptionally themed portion of the park but why not maximize it?

My advice is to at least watch one movie, you might like it. If you don't like the movies/books chances are you'll be wondering what the hullabaloo is all about. FJ is a great ride, well themed and will be fun, but the different facets won't have much meaning.

As for the OP, we went on Nov 7 a Sunday and it was low crowds, despite it being NJ week. However, can't say the same about the crowds at WDW at that time.

I'll be down there at the same time. :)

General rule of thumb since HP opened is that Sundays are the least crowded at IOA, however, since it's an off-peak time (went about the same time 2 years ago), even the busiest day should still be manageable and probably even better crowds than on the low crowd Sundays during the summer.

Can't argue with that. :thumbsup2
