Nov 25-Dec 2

Welcome to the group Gerweniel!

So, apparantly it's been announced (or is about to be announced) that L'Originale Alfredo di Roma at Epcot-Italy is closing permamently sometime this summer. I haven't even made our ADR's yet and it looks like we're already going to have to change one. And this was a big one for us. We were really looking forward to it. This was going to be our Candlelight Processional Dinner Package. Back to the research!

REALLY? What happened? I would have thought that it was pretty popular?!? Are they replacing it? How could Italy not have a restaurant???

Tracy:

So far, it's still just a rumor. Intercot seems to be the only site reporting it as an announcement from Disney, and it's being claimed that the person who reported it has an inside connection direct at Disney and that's where they got the information. Although someone from here said that they called WDW Dining and spoke with someone who also called Alfredo's management directly and they claim to know nothing about an impending closure - so we'll have to wait and see. Good thing we don't make ADR's until May.

I thought we wanted to keep this thread active until trip time.

So.....I'm going to post the occasional picture.

This is the hubby from a trip to Martha's Vineyard that we took in 2004.

Next up...some actual Disney pics from our trip last year.

Just read that Alfredo's is closing on AllEarsnet too - as of 8/31/2007. Guess it's a fact...

Yep, I saw that too.

I don't think we're going to panic yet (we still have almost 3 months until we can even make our ADR's), so hopefully by the time we're really to finalize, we'll have an idea of what they are planning for the new place. But it does sound like there will be a new Italian sit-down restaurant open immediately or very soon after they close Alfredo's.

We're going Nov. 25 - Dec 2. Can't wait....our first time during the Christmas holidays. When do you think the schedule for the Candlelight Processional will come our?

From what I understand, Candlelight Processional is performed every night of the holiday season, starting sometime in November and running through December. There is already a schedule here somewhere. I'll see if I can find the link.

Yep...on the events page. Here's the link:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/events.htm

If you scroll down to the holiday info, it will show the 2007 dates after the 2006 information. However, I don't think WDW has officially announced anything yet. That probably won't happen until the summer.

looking at allearsnet.com they didn't start taking reservations for the '06 CP till mid August. Also looks like there are 3 shows per night. I'm thinking that they'll have the Narrators schedule out sometime in July maybe. There are a few regulars, Gary Sinise has gone most of the last 7 or so years as has Rita Moreno I believe, Marlee Matlin and a few others have done quite a few different years as well.

We're looking forward to going this year.

:wave2:
Wow I didn't realize so many people were going down the same time DH and I are.
DH and I will be at BWV from 11/24 to 11/29. This is DH's first time staying at the BW so we're looking forward to it
I'm looking forward to my first MVMCP

We are also planning a trip for the week of 11/25-12/2. :cool1:
I am fairly new to the DIS and I want to learn as much as possible!

I just booked the other day for our next trip. 11/25 - 12/1 at POFQ. This will be the second trip to POFQ for DH and I but the first for the kids. We have been talking about this week for about a month or so but it feels great to finally have it booked! :woohoo:

We will be there at CSR from Nov 26-Dec7!!:cool1: :yay:

How did I not find this thread until now?:confused3
We are set for Nov 25 - Dec 1 at OKW. Just today my best friend and his wife have decided to go too. Now I am working as travel agent / tourguide. I need codes!!!!!;) I would love to find someone to rent DVC ponts from for them. Regardless, the countdown has begun. Oh BTY did I mention, I'm the only one in my family of 4 that knows about the trip? Thus the KOTS signature. (keeper of the secret) :rolleyes1
Let's stick together and look for flight deals too. I usually fly from PHL or BWI.

Most people don't realize that this isn't the quiet week it used to be a few years ago along with the first full week in December. It isn't summer or holiday week crowds but it is a popular time of year to go to Disney World. In 2006 this week had very limited availability in discounts in the deluxe hotels

We are scheduled for early Dec. Not sure whether to book 11/26 thru 12/3 or 12/6 thru 12 /13. Hoping for low attendance, but not so sure anymore. Either way I know we will love it!

Yikes! This is our FIRST trip, 12/3 to 12/11 and we were hoping it would be slowwwww :confused3 . Can't change the dates...it's tied to another trip. Oh, well, hopefully we'll get a decent code before then!

This is the dates I am working on going with our family also. Didn't realize it's popularity with it's own dedicated thread.

I don't have anything booked yet. Guess I'm late in the game. I just made the executive decision! Hoping for some great discounts. Trying to find codes. Still rummaging thru threads for these.
