Nov. 2011

Well, after only being signed up for special offers for a few days, I already got my first PIN!!!

Unfortunately it's only for 10% off. :( Gotta bring more than that Disney!!

It seems that there is no SURE way to get one. Sign up on the disneyworld.com website for email offers, search and save some vacations, order the dvd or the custom maps, and MAYBE they'll send you one. It seems that some people who shopped packages and saved them have been getting pin codes lately.

When you get one via email, there will be a link that you can click on, to go to price your vac, and it will calculate the discount then. If you get one via snail mail, you can call reservations and give it to them to book.

This has been my experience.. anyone else?

I signed up a few days ago, subscribed to special offers, ordered the DVD, and saved 3 different vacations at different resorts. The PIN I was sent just a few minutes ago(only 10%) mentioned my package I saved at POFQ, not sure if it makes a difference.

One more update..my wife signed up for an account and did the same thing I did (minus the DVD), and she just got a game on PIN for $60 value, $115 moderate, and $175 deluxe. Dates are for Sept though even though we didn't save any packages for Sept or indicate we wanted to go then. Just completely random I guess.

Quick question...both PINs we have received were for standard rooms only. Are there ever any discounts on suites?

We got a GAME ON card in the mail yesterday for 10% off our stay in Nov 28-Dec 1st. Must apply the discount by the first week in August. Wondering if I should go ahead and apply this discount or hold out for the free dining. I'm wondering if I take advantage of this deal if they will not possibly send me a free dining offer??? Any suggestions?

You could apply it and then if free dining comes out you can apply that one instead. :thumbsup2

10%??? Really? That's it? I mean I know its a little bit but some people are getting like 30%?

I am new to the board, the last time I was at Disney was 2000, and I am booked for early December. I am going with my daughter, son-in-law, son and my 5 grandchildren, so we need free dining. I have never received an e mail from them, so I am looking for some kind of discount. So please send me some pixie dust if you can. QS will be fine since they are all under 9

Thanks:santa:

We'll be there same dates, where are y'all staying? :wizard:

We'll be at All Star Movies. This is our very first trip. We'll have DD 5, DD 3, and DS 15 months. My oldest is insanely crazy over story toy, so we upgraded our room and have a request in for a Toy Story themed room.

How about you?

We are at Port Orleans this time, but stayed at ASM in 2007 when my son was 7, he went BONKERS over the resort, with the huge icons and all his faves from the movies! I bet your kids will love it too!

We will be at OKW from 11/13-11/16 and WLV from 11/16-11/18! Looking forward to my 1st Disney Xmas season with my hubby!!! :)

I KNOW RIGHT! I can get a AAA discount better than that!

What's the AAA discount these days? Last time we went we booked through AAA and I'm pretty sure it was 35% or 40% off the rack rate on the Poly cons.

I got a PIN last December but it was for the wrong time of year for us. We're looking at the first week of November. Since I just got a PIN within the last 8 months, does it reduce my chances of getting another for November? Was hoping to go to Bay Lake Tower if they discount that???

Was also wondering what "FD" stands for, as from the sounds of it, i'm holding out for that too i guess.

AAA discount is 20%. Perhaps last time you booked through Disney they took advantage of a public offer to get the bigger discount?

My understanding is that PINs are completely random, but I'm not an expert in that :)

FD is Free Dining :goodvibes

Yes, AAA is 20% but that is for a room only. They don't offer a discount on the packages, at least not much.

could have been - it was back in '04. good to know i can fall back on AAA if all i get is 10% or nothing though.

i sure hope they're random - hate to be taken out of the lottery because i couldn't make it last time.

thanks for FD definition.

We will be there nov 12-19. Staying AKL and GF. I did get a 30'/, pin about 6 weeks ago by using the tips and tricks from fellow dis boarders. The room only disc works better for us than free dining. Good luck all!:cheer2:

I ordered the DVD, signed up for the emails and saved a couple maps a while ago - no PIN yet. So I saved a few vacations today. Are there other, better tips and tricks I could be using? I just want a 35% off the room as well.
