If you don't mind me asking, what did it say? Was there an expiry date?

I don't mind at all! It was 30% off our room at a value, moderate or deluxe for certain dates in November. We had to book by early August (I think the 7th?). I can look when I go back home for sure. I believe the dates for deluxe were 1-21 and 26-30. The typed wording said something about "since you are looking for a November vacation..." so it had to be based on my playing with the site.

Mine was game on pin. Expires on Aug 15. It also mentioned since I was planning a trip in Nov. I had saved some more vacations a few months ago. It must have worked. Good luck everyone waiting on a pin

Mmmmmm, maybe the general discount will come out on August 15th and encompass both Oct-Dec 2011 and 2012 like last year...I hope not...I'll go crazy waiting that long!!!!

I also got a Game On pin earlier this week - which was for 10% off rooms. I couldn't use it b/c we are staying in ASMu family suite and there were none avail for the pin. Plus most of our nights were blacked out (Nov 1-18, 26-30 Sunday to Thurs nights). We are going Nov 19-28. My pin expires July 22, so it seems like the pin expirations are all over the place.

I think these PINs coming out (both FD and room rate discounts) are a very good indication that those of us that haven't got a PIN will eventually see a GP discount. It's just a matter of when...I could see them holding out longer than they did in the last few years. They used to wait until mid-August to put out the late season discounts.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I just can't see them releasing a FD offer with the Game On PINs still circulating - there are not many people who would take a game-on PIN over FD.

I'm afraid the free dining ship has sailed up through the end of September. I think hte next deal you see will be October forward.

For now we have no idea when or if free dining will be offered for more dates. Your best bet is trying to get in on the current discount (August 28th-September 24th). We've heard of some PIN codes offering free quick service dining but those dates are for Oct - Dec.

I am "patiently" waiting for a pin for room discount only. I have gotten random pins including 19% of a package deal for November, but still haven't gotten the magical one yet

We are doing a Disney cruise November 10th through 13th and am looking to stay just one night at AKL on November 13th when we return so we are able to check out MK for one day.

I have heard people say book now and then apply a discount if you get one and I have heard others say wait...

I would really like a Savannah view, but can't really afford it without a good discount. Should I book a standard view and then upgrade if I need to or should I book the Savannah view and pray or should I just wait to book all together.

Crossing my fingers for FD in November...that would seal the deal so I can get the go ahead from DH. We're thinking of driving down after Thanksgiving dinner to arrive on that Friday. If the deal starts on the 26th, we'd have to do 1 night room only and then the package. Here's hoping!!!

The trend has been the deals after Thanksgiving don't start until Sunday which would be on the 27th. They already released a room discount pin for this time back in January. It is possible they release free dining but as an FYI... when you see it... book it. It books quickly! You can always cancel if you can't go.

Last year we had FD and it started the Saturday (not Sunday) after Thanksgiving. Also, I believe the PIN going around for free quick service also starts the Saturday after Thanksgiving. So my guess, if free dining is offered it will start back up again the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Just my opinion!

This is the first year I really really want the discount and it's the first year I've never got a pin code so now I'm stuck waiting. I'm really thinking about if they don't have offer some sort of discount taking my DP off. It's already in my package. I just think I can eat cheaper than $380.00 for a week. I would rather spend my money on fun stuff than food. Which I guess it doesn't matter Disney will still get my money.

I thought I recalled it starting on the Saturday after last year as well...we arrived on the last day of the offer (12/2) last year so it carried over our whole trip. I've already booked some must have adr's just in case to cover all my bases. I got locked out of stuff that I wanted last year so I'm not having that happen again this time around.

I think last year it did start on Sarurday after Thanksgiving because that's what I based my plan of DVC rental Thurs and Fri, package starting Sat. However my pin code in Jan didn't start until Sun. Don't know if that is indicative of any general public codes to come or not.

It seems that there is no SURE way to get one. Sign up on the disneyworld.com website for email offers, search and save some vacations, order the dvd or the custom maps, and MAYBE they'll send you one. It seems that some people who shopped packages and saved them have been getting pin codes lately.

When you get one via email, there will be a link that you can click on, to go to price your vac, and it will calculate the discount then. If you get one via snail mail, you can call reservations and give it to them to book.

This has been my experience.. anyone else?
