First, right off, BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY. Sorry, that "7 month window" is pretty much a loser. You MIGHT get something.... MAYBE. Good luck.

DVC likes to lull one into the idea that you "could" book any DVC property. Well yes - you "could"..... I could also become the President of Poland . MAYBE .

In the mean time.... BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY - USE that 11 month Window. The 7 month Window is a maybe, might happen, no one knows, nail blighter.

An Example: Not "homed" at the GRAND Californian? Best of luck at the seven month mark . We have not even tried, based on current data .

It depends. February-August the 7 month window is pretty good. We have pretty much always got what we wanted. Maybe for 1 fewer night. However, we always split. I can't imagine just staying at 1 resort and that helps.

Oct-Jan for me are home resort times. We only ever book home resort at 11 months for that time frame and don't even try to change.

You should try if you want to stay there. We always do DL stopover when going to Hawaii and no problem getting GC at 7 months or less. We booked Beach Club during F+W at 2 months out. As stated when we biught in 15 years ago, be a little flexible snd you get wgat you want.

On a practical note, for the OP, while it isn't DVC, there are several nice hotels across the street from DS that are very affordable and might have availability. Or you could just decide to go to WDW on a different date. . .
