Nov. 15th Day Two

Goofy called us early this morning and I got up and got into the shower. We had an early breakfast booked for about 7:15 even though the parks would not open until 10am. Kevin had had some trouble getting to sleep the night before as he ended up sleeping in the bunk bed! As with any Disney vacation a good nights sleep is very important and although we did try to both sleep in that little double bed we realized quickly that we were going to have problems. Kevin eventually moved to bunk bed and then cried out in the dark because the blanket was a kids size one, and wouldn’t cover him properly when he laid on his side, if you know what I mean! We had a good laugh there in the dark but there was nothing to do because no way could we share the itty bitty double bed and no way was I sleeping in the bunk! I reminded him that I was the princess on this trip! Goodnight sweetheart, sleep well!

The next morning’s breakfast was lovely! It was so quiet and I really wish now I had taken the pictures that I had wanted to, of the buffet. However it was all I could do to relax and enjoy my croissants and coffee and this was a mistake pics wise because breakfasts after that would prove to be a proper madhouse with wall to wall people and little ones running about as adults walked around with loaded trays trying to find an empty place to sit.

After a quick stop in the room we began the scenic walk to Disneyland once again and agreed it was wonderful to be on site! The surrounding hotels looked very nice in the daylight and the balloon loomed ahead beckoning me to ride it. Kevin wasn’t so sure it was a good idea so perhaps on another trip. One evening we met a very excited Scottish man with his young son who had just come back from a trip and they both agreed it was amazing, even though it was awfully cold outside! We contemplated it but decided we would wait until another time when it was warmer!

We got to Disneyland before rope drop and marveled again at the beauty that is Main Street at Christmas time.

Those pictures were taken from up on the train station which we rode on a later day. It provides a wonderful vantage point doesn't it ::yes::!

Naturally we gravitated towards the castle and posed for some pictures when we noticed that the rope had dropped so we turned and headed for Frontierland and Big Thunder Mountain which we were able to walk on, yay! Still loving this attraction! Then on again to Phantom Manor and afterwards took pictures of Frontierland from Boot Hill. Such amazing theming! We then walked to Fantasyland via the Castle where we spotted a very cold and lonely pair… Peter Pan and Mary, with their arms folded tight across their chests obviously freezing as they walked across the park undisturbed. Until we came along that is! I asked if I could take a picture with them and they were very sweet. Afterwards we were feeling quite daring so we opted for a ride on It’s a Small World. Which means we are very brave because I have read if this one breaks down, they do not turn off the soundtrack. Imagine that torture, yikes! Still the ride worked perfectly for us, thank goodness. It was familiar but seemed longer somehow than the one in Florida. We liked it! As our boat moved towards the disembark area some pretty little ducks swam nearby. We saw some puppeteers up ahead near the ride exit. They were walking on stilts and I managed to get a photo with them.

At this point Kev wanted to ride Indy again but I didn’t really so he went on it by himself, and there was no line. He was off very quickly and I was surprised to see him again so soon. The sun was shining and although it was cold there was no wind and so people who were waiting had their faces turned up to the sun.

Up ahead we saw Goofy, and I’d read about the crush for photos with characters and how there can be pushing and that but there wasn’t many people around so we went up to the tall fella. I waited for the little ones to get their pictures and autographs and then I got a picture too! One woman was talking to him and calling him Pluto, and he shook his head fervently and I said it’s Goofy, and this pleased him and he put his arm around me, ha-ha.

I know, thrilling stuff! But it was to us ! After this my aching legs needed a break already so we went to the Cowboy again for some lunch, Kev ordering the Chicken and me ordering the Magic Burger which was pretty okay. Kev loved his chicken but I had my mind on the ribs I would most certainly be ordering at Café Mickey’s that evening so I didn’t want BBQ again! Then lucky us, the band got up to play! Yay! They were really good and I recognized all of their songs. Not so lucky for me, as I was eating a soft French fry (I said that every time I ordered, feeling mortified each time!) ..my tooth broke right in half!

Oooh NO! My tooth! I put my head in my hands, waiting for the sharp cutting pain that I would be feeling any second, ruining my holiday but nope! I was fine, just no ice cream sundaes for me this trip! I had been having pain on that side before I left and visited my dentist but we couldn’t be sure which tooth it was, they all looked fine he said. Great, now we know!

We decided it was time now to visit the Studios! We were very excited and curious as to what it would be like and Kevin was excited to ride Crush. I was not so excited about that, having had a bad spin (haha..sorry! ) on a whirlybird when the ride operator did not stop manually spinning our vehicle. Made me sick and I’ve been afraid of spinning ever since.

So we went over there and the 1:30 parade was just due to start, perfect! We darted over and got in line for Crush. Went the wrong way at first but we had never been there before! On this Kevin’s first ride on Crush I knew I wasn’t going to join him but at the same time I didn’t want it to turn into my Soarin,’ which is a brilliant attraction in Epcot, and which I am scared stiff to ride. Kevin rode Crush first; I took the chicken exit, which was just a short hallway which exited right at the point where you exit into the outside when you exit the actual ride. I stood by and watched the ride vehicles zip by one by one and all of a sudden there was Kevin. Absolutely beaming with happiness! Which was reassuring, but also the fact that the ride seemed to be quite short also gave me some comfort. Because a girl can spin for a very small moment, no? Without dying? The answer is yes because I did manage to ride it on our 4th day and I loved it :goodvibes !

After that we did the Studio Tram Tour and then Kevin had a look in the Art of Animation building, playing with some of the exhibits while I browsed in a shop nearby before I joined him. We had meant to come back and do this on another day but never managed it, nor did we manage to do Armageddon!

Now looking back over our trip we missed a lot, didn’t do everything and it bugs me to no end. We had 4 nights and almost 5 days but still, didn’t do it all. I guess that says something about the amount of things to do and see, because we didn't sit and rest and we never left property. Kevin says the only thing that is important is if we had fun, and we sure did! I think, in fact I know, I spent every now and then in the shops having a good look around but we enjoy that so I wouldn’t change that, and besides it wasn’t that long. Was it? Still, on this day we missed the parade. You have to understand I thought we had just loads of time! So we missed the parade, but it was sort of on purpose. We just weren’t to fussed yet and were taking things kind of as they came, wanting to do the best attractions first.

With a broken tooth I contemplated sitting out Rock and Roll Rollercoaster, in case the pressure from the G forces would start it hurting, but I just couldn't ! So we rode with hardly any wait, sitting in the second to last seats and it was just a brilliant ride. Better than in the states! The loops are bigger and it's a much more comfortable ride, plus it's longer and has more interesting visuals! We got right back on it for a second ride after I spied some Nice Jack items I wanted in the Rock Around the Shop.

Afterwards we headed out of the park and went to the Cheyenne to fix ourselves a coffee in our room and freshen up before our meal at Cafe Mickey's.

When we got to the restaurant, after browsing the shops in Disney Village I had brought only one of our vouchers, and the other bit of paper was our voucher for our Fantasyland Breakfast in a few days! Ugh, so Kevin being quicker on his feet said he would go back to the Cheyenne for it while I looked around in the Disney Store, and he would find me there. Happy for more time in the shop I headed there but it was so packed I only managed a brief look about before I just stood outside and waited for him to return. He'd have never found me in that crush of people!

When he finally came back we were seated right away. The characters left just as we got there, going upstairs I imagine. We ordered the ribs and a drink and were able to eat most of it before they returned however there were only 3 characters. Mickey, Tigger and Geppetto. Still we weren't too bothered and took our photos, never getting one with Tigger although he did dance and spend a lot of time with a birthday girl and her family nearby and we enjoyed the spectacle of it all. It was a pretty wild place we thought, very noisy but fun. It was a nice way to cap off our first full Disneyland Paris day :thumbsup2 .

Wow, your photos are fantastic!!! :thumbsup2

I had to laugh at reading about poor Kevin shivering away in his bunk bed whilst you have the double all to yourself!!! :rotfl:

Then I thought ouch :headache: when you lost your tooth ~ I hope your holiday continues to be pain-free.

Looking forward to the next part. :)

Sounds like a great trip. I had a few laughs reading that especially with the bunk bed, lol.

Thank you both :) ! My tooth never did cause me any pain but I was careful to eat on the left side for the rest of the trip. Don't worry about Kevin, he ended up sleeping well in his bunk and even managed to keep me awake at times with his snoring :scared:!
Ashleigh the shopping is great, they have a lot of things for the kids but a lot of really nice things for the adults as well :). Your going to have a great time!

Loving your pics and what a fab full day!:thumbsup2 We also enjoyed Cafe Mickeys although we went for breakfast, great interaction.

Can't wait for our first ride on Crush in Feb, it sounds like fun!:cool1:

I know what its like to break a tooth, lucky you didn't have any pain though. Looking forward to your next instalment.:goodvibes
