Nov 10, 2012--Western FANTASY!!

Happy New Year to all and wishing you a wonderful 2012.

We are Joseph, Melissa, Kayla (8 at sailing), and Ollie (6 at sailing). From the San Francisco Bay Area. This will be our 1st Disney Cruise, our 5th overall, and the kids' 2nd. After having just got back from our Mexico Cruise with our kids (a little tester for them), they were immediately hooked :goodvibes so we stepped it up and booked this one!

We are so excited and have heard so many good things about this line. We visit Disneyland once a year, so we are big Disney fans.

Looking forward to a nice vacation!

P.S. @ Alicia & Carlo so sorry to hear about your misfortune. Sending good thoughts and prayers to help you get through this. Best wishes to you.

awww, jojop - thank you for your kind words - these are greatly appreciated.

we *may* still be able to cruise, depending on our circumstances closer to the time, so we shall see. i will leave our booking as is for now, and determine closer to the time..

thank you again for your lovely sentiments - i would have loved to have met you :)

Wow, I took a break from the boards (broken computer) over the holidays, and the thread grew! I've updated the roll call.

Hi, I (Rob) just turned 40 a few weeks ago so I will still be celebrating my 40th on the cruise.......

We may need a separate DIS meet just for the 40 year olds.

Hello from the Snyders, sailing on November 10th aboard the Fantasy! My name is Grace and my husband Ray and daughter Claire (6) sailed for the first time November 26th 2011 on the Magic and we are so ready to sail again! This time, my mother Marsha will be joining us. It will be her first cruise and she is psyched! Looking forward to seeing you all there! :woohoo:

Hi Snyders, from the Schneiders. Will Claire be 6 or 7 at the time of sailing? My DD Kaitlyn will be just shy of her 8th birthday.

Happy New Year to all and wishing you a wonderful 2012.

We are huge Disneyland fans too. I was contemplating flying to LA prior to the cruise and spending a couple of days in the parks (mostly to see Carsland and all the other new things in DCA). There are certainly much better flight options to Orlando out of LAX vs. Reno. But.....I'm having trouble justifying throwing another $1500+ into this vacation, so we shall see.

Alicia, I'm very sorry for your present difficulties. Thoughts and prayers for you .

I have you in the roll call as "tentative" since you are leaving your booking open. Please let me know if you prefer any amendments.

To all that are sailing with children (my DD will be 10 and 6 1/2 when we sail), I hope that our children can meet and get to know each other on the ship! :goodvibes When we cruised Nov 27 on the Dream we were with 2 other families with girls around the same age as my DDs and that made the clubs and pool time LOTS more fun for them! I'm glad I joined this DisMeet thread so we can "meet" friends ahead of time! :flower3:

My thoughts exactly. Even though my girls are a little older than yours, I think they still could have fun together.

hey all,

just wanted to confirm we will not be sailing this cruise. hopefully we can rebook something in the future and meet some of you then. i hope you have a magical cruise!!!

I'm heading up a group of 12 (spanning 3 generations) in 5 rooms for this sailing. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

We are about to book this cruise!! :cool1: This will be our 4th Disney Cruise, one on the Wonder and we did a B2B on the Dream Nov 2011. It has been really hard not having a cruise booked!! lol I was going stir crazy thinking about what to we were going to do for a vacation in November. So, after looking through all the cruises, we decided we would do this cruise, then add 4 nights after it at the AKL. We would love to do the fish extender if there is going to be one. It will be myself (Rachel 26, DH, Michael 28, and our DS Kalel 4) All of these ages are going to be current come cruise time. Not sure about stateroom yet. I organized both FE on our B2B so its nice to be able to sit back on this one!

hi all,

i'm sorry to say we definitely won't be on this cruise.

hope you all have a fabulous time

Just read through the thread and realized that I earlier completed a thoroughly underwhelming post. Sorry!

My name is Jodi. My DH is Jeff and my son is Jack who will be 6 by the time we sail. (Our 3rd cruise, 1st with Disney)

We are sailing with both sets of parents who will be celebrating their 40th anniversaries - Maryann & Bob (3rd cruise, 1st with Disney) and Louise & Jerry (2nd cruise, 1st with Disney).

Accompanying us will be my brother Rob, his wife Sarah (3rd cruise, 1st with Disney) and their daughter, Kylee (1st cruise) who will be 3 by the time we sail.

Also sailing willbe my BIL Wayne and his wife Katie (1st timers all around). Both are in the Army.

We would love to participate with FE. It's just for the kids rooms, right? I can't wait to learn more about that!

We've already started working on our pirate costumes because we are BIG Halloween folks and well, people expect it from us. Our friends would be so disappointed if we didn't go all out!

Can't wait to go and get to know everyone better! :yay:

we won't be travelling, but is it just for kids or can adults participate too? i'm concerned that we might miss out on our future cruise??

Hi Rachel. Hopefully you won't mind if I pick your brain about the logistics of coordinating an FE exchange. I would love to know what worked and what you wish you had done differently. Did you have one big group, or was it divided into smaller groups? (I'm personally kind of leaning toward the second option to make it more manageable for everyone.)

Hi Jodi and very large family!

we won't be travelling, but is it just for kids or can adults participate too? i'm concerned that we might miss out on our future cruise??

First of all, Alicia, I'm so sorry you can't join us.....

Regarding FE.....Definitely NOT just for the kids! Everyone will have the option to participate or not. From what I've learned on the boards, some people choose to do one gift for each family. Others do a gift for each person. Some people do a family gift and something extra for the kids, or multiple smaller gifts throughout the cruise. It's really whatever you want to put into it. Gifts can be given anonymously or tagged with the giver's name. The group decides on any "rules" to be put into place, for example whether there should just be one great big huge group (have seen examples where there were 100+ staterooms) :scared1:, or whether to divide into smaller subgroups. Another "rule" to be decided would be setting a deadline for joining. Some DISers are very artistic and make their gifts (disclaimer: this WON'T be me), so a deadline helps in the planning and creating.

Maybe Rachel has some additional insight to add??

I'm happy to see this group finally taking off!

Hi everyone!

I am VERY much hoping my family and I will be joining you for this cruise - just waiting to hear back from my TA and confirm some final details..

As for "we" - that's myself (Karen); DH (Richard); DD (Sophie); DF (Joe) & DGS (the gorgeous Teddy, who will be aged 14 months at time of sailing). This will be Joe and Teddy's first cruise and we are flying over from London, England for some fun in WDW prior to sailing...

This will be a VERY celebratory cruise for MANY reasons!!! Not least as my DH will be 50 later in November!!! It's also a slightly belated 30th Wedding Anniversary trip for us AND First Birthday Bash for the baby!!! Plus DD & her partner will celebrate their 14th "together" Anniversary just before the cruise... I do hope DCL have enough cake onboard!!!

I could go on...

But, I'll just say this will be my 10th cruise and, even tho' stepping off the Fantasy at the end of the cruise will be hard, I'll be dancing a little jig to have finally reached Platinum status... It's the little things...

Anyway, I hope to be posting on here again and look forward to getting to know my shipmates over the coming months!!!

Hi Jodi and very large family!

Ironically, this is the smallest group I have ever sailed with. My 1st cruise was 29 people and my 2nd was 15 people. I had to post because you made me chuckle. What can I say; big family! Only 12 is small in my world. LOL! ;)

I don't know if all 5 rooms will want to participate in FE (Adults too?! That ROCKS!!!) but I'll check with everyone. I do a monthly newsletter and this month is about theming - costumes, trip shirts... and now, FE's! I'll know more in another month or so as I email the newsletter out at the end of month. Three of the rooms are filled with folks based out of VA, another is WA and the last is HI. I did the same thing with our last two Disney trips - one to DL and the other to WDW. It builds the anticipation and keeps everyone's enthusiasm level high.

Yesterday was 10 months exactly! Can't hardly wait!!!

Well, you ARE currently the largest family in the roll call, lol.

Hello, we're excited to join you all!

We are Arcel, my husband Kevin, Emily (will be 3), Matthew (celebrating his 5th bday on the cruise), and my brother Ben.

This is our first cruise and we are so excited it's with Disney!

Hi everyone!
I am the Sarah of Jodical's party. In my room will be my DH Rob and my DD Kylee (3) at time of sailing.
Rob and I have both cruised before but this will be our first Disney Cruise. And Kylee's first all the way around.
I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and having a FANTASTIC :cool1: vacation with my family!
November is just to far away!!! :sad2:

Sarah :hippie:

Hey Fellow Cruisers - where did everyone go :confused3 it's way too quiet here.

We are looking forward to the FE Exchange - I know what we are giving, just have to assemble and wrap closer to the cruise. I organized our exchanges on both legs of our B2B in November - we received some great gifts!
