Disneynewbee, those are all AWESOME! What are you inside pages like on the autograph books? Where did you get them bound? Thats something I've got to do yet. DS6's teacher asked for him to keep a journal while we are away. :scared1: (That means ME keeping a journal because DS6 can't read but some two and three letter words right now, much less write sentences!) But I've seen journal pages somewhere on here that have the sentences pretty much filled out and the child just needs to fill in the BLANK. I think that would be the easiest route to go. Now I just have to find those pages! BUSY BUSY BUSY!

Awesome disneynewbie!!:thumbsup2 Making me want to do some shirts now!:worship:

I hope my FE holder doesn't fall apart hen things are put in it! Not sure how hardy that iron-on tape is!

Thanks everyone. The autograph books we just printed the front and back cover on photo paper and then laminated them. The 1st page of the autograph book is designed to match the front with a phone number to call if it's found. The rest of the book is file cards. We found 4X6 unlined file cards and figured they were the same thickness as stock card and we wouldn't have to cut them so we went with that. In order for the cover to laminate right we had to put 3 additional file cards behind it to make it sturdy enough. We had 2 different types of lamination paper the first was whole sheets that were sticky on both sides, those didn't work too well. The other we had was sticky on just one side, that worked the best. You put the sticky part on the back of the cover. We got lucky with the binding, my sisters MIL is a photographer and had the machine so all we had to do was buy the little rings which were pretty cheap. We didn't design each page for specific characters because we didn't know who we would end up seeing and didn't have to go looking for a specific characters page when we met them.

WOW - you are so super-organized, Judy. Thanks so much!!!

Ok, here is the whole thing, after all that it was just easier to do it all on one sheet. I marked a lime green DOT beside each of our rooms. I tried to make the deck plans large enough on the sheet to see clearly. This sheet should print out 8.5x11. Hope it's a helpful tool. I will bring extras on board should anyone need it.

I could stop being lazy and look back through the posts... but what is everyone planning to do in Nassau? We will either be getting a day pass from the Hilton or Sheraton/wyndham, or we will just take a quick looksee at the markets etc and stay on the boat. I have to check in with my group to see what they might want to do.

Same with us depending on how we feel that day.

Probably this. I kept going back and forth about this (whether to go to Atlantis, etc.), but I think we will just walk around the market a little bit (not venture too far) and then get back on the boat. The more I read about Nassau the less excited I am about that particular port. On the only other cruise I've been on (Carnival), we went to Cozumel and spent about four hours walking around and having lunch; it was really nice there. I don't get the same feeling about Nassau.

Thanks everyone for the welcome:cool1:We are so excited to be on board. We are FL residents and live near Orlando so sometimes we can do a last minute trip if the price is right!!! This year a friend of a friend is a TA and got us a really great price. My parents are celebrating their 62 anniversary in
Dec, and this is their gift. My daughter is in retail so late Nov and
Dec is a no-no for travel. Just a month or so ago her company said to take some vacation or lose it, and thats when we started to try for the cruise! We were originally going on the 3 day, but ended up almost the same cost for the 4 day....Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
None of our family likes Nassau so we will stay on board except for a quick jog over to the Tortuga Rum cake store to stock up on Christmas presents. Rum cakes are also on board, but the selection at the store is larger. We will get off the ship for Castaway Cay, but as of now no excersions. My gift to myself is the Rainforest on board, so if you dont see me doing one of the activities, thats probably where I will be. There is always so much to do, but one of my favorites is a deck chair on deck 4 with a book. I try to read, but I end reading the inside of my eyelids. :rotfl2:
You will know our family for day 1 we will be wearing matching red/brown hidden mickey hawaiian shirts. These are by Reyn Spooner, alas he does not do Mickey shirts anymore, so that is why our shirts are usually reserved for the cruise. Dont know if I will make it for the DIS meet, as I usually have to help Mom with unpacking, otherwise she would take 2 or more hours cause she ends of rearranging her stuff numerous times. Since there are 4 adults in a small room, my daughter and I dont unpack until she is finished, but if one of us did not supervise her we'd never get unpacked!:rotfl:
Someone asked about luggage tags, if you are driving to the port and parking, you can drop off luggage and extra people at a spot near the terminal. The luggage valets will take your luggage and get it on board for you. These hardworking people do work mostly for tips, so plan accordingly. The same group will be in the terminal when you get off the ship and will gather luggage and get you through customs to your car. Again, please tip accordingly! The tags you put on before the cruise will get your luggage to your room. Once the luggage gets on board, your room steward will get it to your room (usually before 5 pm) On Wednesday, you will get new tags to put on your luggage for disembarking.
I know that the luggage valets at the port may seem like an extra expense for an already expensive trip, but they are worth it. Trust me for relatively little, they will carry our luggage for our 4 adults and take it out of the car at trips beginning and put it in the car at trips end! We have observed others struggling with their own luggage, and it is awesome to have help!!!!
I hope everyone stays well, and that last minute trouble is at a minimum:woohoo:
Went to mnsshp last night and it was awesome, as usual. Those that go will have a great time. As for dtd candy handouts, when they run out of candy they stop giving it out. Sometimes they run out earllier than at other times!
See everyone on board, and I am sure you will have a great time!!!!:hippie:

Hi everyone!
I did a journal book for all the kids going in my group and got most from the following Disigner..
Check the links "Autograph Book" on the right!

PS To the person asking Bahamas plans...rented a room at Atlantis (for $360), which gives us all access to their water park for 4 people. Wayyy cheaper than doing it through Disney.

I am getting so excited!

Be prepared..the markets are NOT very safe. They are very closed in, and people hound you at every corner. My husband made us all turn around and head back on the ship..it was that uncomfortable...

PS Since this is our 3rd cruise, I just wanted to impart my favorite piece of advice...over the door hangers for everything, removable hooks (3M), and lifting up mattress for your luggage...

Kewlteacher, thanks for pointing me to Donatalie's photobucket album (well, giving the link and the fact that she does journal pages). I have gotten all the autograph pages, journal pages and I already had the pages for the Activity book. I'll be heading over to Staples buisness depot this evening to have the books made up. DD18 now tells me SHE also wants an autograph book! So, 3 autograph books, one journal and one activity book, how much will all that come to? No matter, it's all worth it to me! I'll get DD to pick her own character pages for the autographs though, I've too many other things to get to now.
As for Nassau. We too want to hit the shop with the rum cakes, also want to visit a few shops on the main strip, I can deal with pushy people after experiencing that on our last trip. (I know better now). We also plan on taking the water taxi over to Atlantis and just walk around for a bit, mainly see the aquarium them go back to the ship. I have to repack my FE gifts as I dont' want to lug those boxes around the ship with me till our Stateroom is ready. I decided empty diaper boxes are thicker, firmer and can handle a piece of luggage or two stacked on top.

That's funny I didn't make my 16yo an autograph book at first. I figured she wouldn't be into that this trip. When she found out I made them for the younger 2 and not her she was all upset. She says to dh "why would mom think I didn't want an autograph book?". Teens one minute they want to be grown the next they want to be a kid. I'm thrilled though that she's not too cool for that stuff.

I'm really nervous about this but my 16yo really wants to check out some knock off purses. I'm good with pushy sales people since the cart people at our malls are really pushy and persistent but I know dh will have us heading back to the ship pretty quickly if he feels uncomfortable. Maybe I need to rethink our plans. I just don't know what to do for the day.

They will hound you at the market. They're very pushy to make a sale and will follow you around. It just makes you uncomfortable but, I don't think it was dangerous. With the kids though, I don't know how I'd feel. We were there about 10 years ago without the kids. My husband was not comfortable and really didn't let me look much.

We have the Comfort Suites booked for $231 total with taxes and fees through hotel.com. This includes full access to the Atlantis for the 4 of us.

LOL, and last night my DS16 informs me that he TOO wants an autograph book! Now that one I was really shocked at!

I did the Comfort Suites 2 years ago, but this year, when I called, they had a 2 night min. When I did the math, I guess it was a small difference. Still saving tons of money! ;-)

See that's what I love about Disney teens don't have to worry about being too cool and can just be themselves and have fun. I love being at Disney with my oldest it's like I have my little girl back. She's a good teen anyway but I miss the time when I didn't have to worry about boyfriends and stuff.
