I have been wanting to see the park decorated for X-mas, but always seem to go during the summer or in September I was thinking about trying the week before Thanksgiving break or even the week after Thanksgiving, any thoughts?

We went the week after Thanksgiving last year. It was wonderful, even though it rained for a portion of it. The parks were gorgeous and the crowds were light.

the immediate weekend after thanksgiving is busy but then it tapers off to almost nothing so if you go that next week you should be fine...I went last year at that time and I got there sat. night after thanksgiving and believe it or not it wasnt that bad on that sunday but the entire week after that was absolutely perfect until the following friday and it was so packed that I left the park to go home at about 9:30am ....I would definitely go at that time of year again in a heartbeat:thumbsup2

We've been there twice the weekend before Thanksgiving. we pull DD out of School on Friday. We take an early flight and get to the parl around 11:00 am. We leave from Texas. We fly back home late Tuesday afternoon. Friday all day, Saturday am, Sunday am, most of Monday are moderate. When DL starts getting crowded we move over to DCA.

We went last year on various days the Sun – Wed. over Thanksgiving break. The kids had the week off of school so you fit in the visit when you can. Both parks were busy, but not terrible. Disneyland was open from 8am – midnight so there was plenty of time to see things. We got in line to enter the park before it opened, and we never waited more than 20 minutes in line for anything - and usually it was less than that. I gathered fastpasses all morning and used them at night. My kids are all teenagers though so we did not spend much time on the Fantasyland rides that don’t have fastpasses. I did notice on Wed. morning as we passed through that the Fantasyland area that it was really, really busy, but the rest of the days didn’t seem too bad.

About 4 or 5 years ago we went on the same week, but also went to the park on Thanksgiving Day, and we will never do that again. By late morning you could not even move around the park it was so crowded. I remember at about noon that the standby time for Splash Mountain was 105 minutes.
