Day 4: The rest of DHS & Resort Hopping

After the American Idol show, we were wandering around DHS and decided we would go into the Animation Studio. DDad & DSis wanted to do the drawing class there, but DMom & I just looked around. When they went to the class, DMom & I went to go meet Lotso from Toy Story 3.
There was hardly any line to meet him. There were aonly two or three people ahead of us. In the queue it made you feel like you were at Sunnyside Daycare!
IMG_5045.jpg

Then it was my turn to meet Lotso. He's very cute! Even though he's not the nicest character in Toy Story, I still like him.
IMG_5046.jpg

Then we continues to look around the Animation Studio. We decided to each do the quiz where it told you what character you were.
I was Belle! I didn't cheat I promise!
IMG_5043.jpg

IMG_5044.jpg

My mom was Jane from Tarzan! I don't have a picture of hers, though.
DDad & DSis were still in the class by now so we decided to look around for something to use a snack credit on.
We decided to look for a place that sold frozen lemonades. We found a place and we each got a frozen Raspberry Lemonade! It was really good!
IMG_5047.jpg

A close-up of the drink, DMom took this one:
IMG_5048.jpg

Then we met up with DDad & DSis, we found out that they drew Stitch at the class. I thought I had a picture of the drawings, but it turns out that I don't. I'll take a picture of them later and post it in my next update, though.
We decided we would use of Toy Story Mania fastpasses now. The standby wait was over 2 hours, I think.
This time I rode with DMom. Here are our scores. Mine's the one on the right, the lower one. But look, 67% accuracy!!!
IMG_50491.jpg

After TSM, we stopped at Starring Rolls to get some snacks for later on.
IMG_5051.jpg

I got a Butterfinger Cupcake:
IMG_5049.jpg

DSis got a brownie with M&M's on it:
IMG_5049-1.jpg

These were really big! We ate them in the hotel room later. The cupcake was really, really good!
After we got our snacks we looked in some of the shops. Including the one at the end with all of the autographs you can buy. Of course, I took some pictures of ones that I liked.
Shania Twain:
IMG_5053.jpg

Elizabeth Montgomery:
IMG_5052.jpg

Thomas Edison, I thought this one was cool:
IMG_5057.jpg

Then we went over to the bus stops & waited for a bus to come.
IMG_5059.jpg

A bus came pretty quickly and soon we were back in our room. We rested a bit, DSis & I ate our snacks from Starring Rolls. Yum!
We stayed in the room for a couple hours, then we decided to go over to the MK area and go to all of the monorail resorts & we were going to eat at the Polynesian.
So we took a bus to MK and then headed over to the monorail stop to wait for the resort monorail.
DSis waiting:
IMG_5063.jpg

The Grand Floridian:

Then the monorail arrived!
IMG_5067.jpg

I think the Polynesian was the second stop, but I'm not sure.
I took this at one of the stops. I think they were both a little sick of all my picture taking.
IMG_5074.jpg

Then we arrived at the Poly. It was pretty inside!
IMG_5080.jpg

I took a picture with one of the tiki people:
IMG_5086.jpg

We looked around the gift shops a little bit and then we went over to Captain Cook's to eat!
IMG_5087.jpg

I liked how you could order with the kiosks, it was easy to see the whole menu.

Continued in the next post

The chairs were nice:
IMG_5088.jpg

A torch outside:
IMG_5090.jpg

I got a hamburger, DMom got some sort of Asian noodles, & idk what DDad & DSis got, maybe grilled cheeses? I don't have pictures of the food from here, sorry.
For dessert we got ice cream. They have the serve yourself ice cream machines here. I, personally, don't think that they're a good idea. They should really have instructions on them. So DSis, DDad, and I go over to fill our cups with ice cream and I press the button and everything, and I thought you had to move your cup like in a circular motion like they do at the ice cream places. But that wasn't right. Needless to say, there was ice cream dripping down my cup and ice cream everywhere. I had to clean it up somehow. So, you would think that DDad & DSis would get me a napkin or a plate or something, but nope. I turn around & they're LAUGHING at me and slowly walking away!! Ok, fine, I handled this on my own. I went over to the bakery that was right next to the machine and got a plastic box-thing and put my cup in there. Problem solved, well sort of. My ice cream looked a little messy.
IMG_5091.jpg

It's really not that bad-looking. I think i should work at Carvel.
So anyway, the ice cream was pretty good.
After we ate we went back to the lobby of the Polynesian.
IMG_5092.jpg

We exited and went to the monorail stop.
IMG_5093.jpg

A monorail came soon and we were on our way to another resort.

Coming up: More resorts!

oh & sorry for the larger pics, I forgot to resize them!

Hey your accuracy is awesome, who cares about a score anyways:)

Wow that is a bigcupcake how in the world did u get that back to resort. It looks tasty tho!

Those autographs are really neat. Resort hopping would be a really nice way to cool down. I know there are a few resorts I would like to look at for next time if we get a chance.

And finally the icecream... :rotfl2: Girl, you are talented!!! I definately see DQ in your future :)

We would never spend four bucks for a cupcake out here in the real world, but at Starring Rolls, we surely have done that more than once. Those Butterfinger cupcakes are monstrous and delicious!

The raspberry lemonade pictures makes me want one right now - and it is only 5 in the morning.

The Polynesian is so beautiful. We go over there every trip to eat or just walk on the beach, but have not yet stayed there. Staying there is high on my list. :thumbsup2

I enjoyed seeing all of your pictures this 'Finally Friday' morning. :goodvibes

Those purchases you made from Starring Rolls look so yummy....we might have to stop there:rolleyes1
They were so good, you should definitely stop there! :thumbsup2

Thanks, the cupcake was huge! I brought it back in a plastic container (like the one I put my ice cream in)
Visiting resorts is lots of fun, the Contemporary is probably my favorite to visit!
Lol, I should attach that picture of the ice cream to the job application.

yes they are!
The raspberry lemonade was so good, especially because it was so hot that day! :goodvibes
The Poly is such a beautiful resort, it really feels like you're in Hawaii.
Glad you're enjoying the pictures, you must be glad it's Friday, I start school on Wednesday (9/8).

cool update. starring rolls looks so good!
i really like the pictures of the poly that you have, i'm staying there for my trip in a couple months.
:)

Day 4: More resort visits!

Next stop: Grand Floridian. I've always wanted to visit this resort because the Tanner family (from Full House) stayed there! We needed to visit some Full House landmarks!
This one's a little blurry, sorry:
img5094d.jpg

the lobby:
img5095b.jpg

I was standing on the balcony, just like Aunt Becky, looking down at the piano player. He was no Uncle Jesse, though, I mean he wasn't singing, for the times we're apart, here's a kiss from my heart. okay, I'll stop singing now. :rolleyes1
img5096s.jpg

Okay, Full House landmark #2: The steps. This is where DJ is talking all about her favorite rides, when she looks over at the check-in desk and sees Steve. The she runs dramatically over to him & leaps into his arms.
img5098r.jpg

And here's the check-in desk (that's not Steve, though :sad2:):
img5100ci.jpg

one more look at the piano:
img5102r.jpg

Alright, no more Full House landmarks.
The monorail stop at GF:
img5104n.jpg

The monorail's coming!
img5107da.jpg

The next & final stop on out resort tour is the Contemporary!
img5109o.jpg

We went in this shop:
img5111b.jpg

I love this statue. It's so pretty, but too bad it's rather large & quite expensive:
img5112.jpg

Then we went into a big gift shop that they have there. In there they have hat rack. So of course I had to try on this Stitch hat:
img5115t.jpg

A more artsy photo of me in the hat:
img5117k.jpg

oh & I'm not really sure why I have my sunglasses on inside. :confused3 I think I had them on my head and I couldn't put the hat on with them on top of my head.
As we were leaving we passed Chef Mickey's.
img5123d.jpg

I have no idea why I took this next picture. Maybe to remind me not to jump on the monorail tracks.
img5126r.jpg

I love how this store is just in the middle of one of the floors. So of course I took another picture of it!
img5129u.jpg

The monorail came & we took it back to MK and from there we took a bus back to CBR.
I think we may have walked down to Old Port Royale to look around, but maybe not because I don't have any pictures from it. We probably just went to bed.

Coming Up: Magic Kingdom!!

Great update! I would love to do that on our next trip- visit all the monorail resorts! I get a kick out of just exploring other resorts and their lobbies.

Thank you!
I know, I love visiting other resorts, it's so much fun. :thumbsup2

I didn't know about the Full House episode and the Grand Floridian. Does that episode have scenes from any of the parks too?
