Nothing Thread

Like I've said before DeeDeeDis, your husband was right about me. Keep your doors and windows locked, and be sure the alarm is on--I'll be in Belchertown any day now.

ALARM?? i live in the country, we're lucky if we remember to shut the front door.

This post has me feeling defensive and I feel compelled to say that if I didn't meet Tony and his family I would never have contacted him outside of the DIS boards. I was sincerely worried about him, and was afraid something happened (a la richyams). I just wanted us all to know he was OK, or conversely I wanted to let everyone here know if something terrible happened. He was SO active on the boards and then suddenly vanished, it seemed so odd. And BTW if he was "creeped out or scared off' it happened BEFORE I called him, not after, as I didn't make the call until he was missing for more than a month.

As I have shared with a couple of others in emails and PM's I ended up feeling really stupid. Here I was frantic with worry and in the end it does indeed look like Greenban just decided he didn't want to play with us anymore. :confused3 :sad1: :( :sad2:

Since he stopped posting after part-one of his trip report and some "offensive" comment he made. It's concievable that he got some nasty PM's from fellow DISers. It's been know to happen. Some of the sweetest online personalities can send nastiest, 4-letter worded and psycho PMs/emails. That has scared many posters away from the Dis. Maybe it scared him away. :confused3

In spite of meeting him, it appears that you did not have the level of familiarity with this guy that you thought. He apparently doesn't feel any need to respond to you in any way, shape or form...even a two line e-mail. IMO, that's rude. Frankly, if someone I considered to be a friend ignored my numerous attempts to contact, I'd figure they really weren't the nice individual I thought they were. I'd add them to my "milk-carton list" and I would move on. Maybe someday you'll get the scoop directly from him, until then I'd focus on friends that want to interact with you. :sunny:

Thanks Lisa, that's very kind of you to say. :goodvibes

Now, who's missing today? I think we need some new cases to work on. ;)

Two words "Doctor Tomorrow". Shall I prepare the bloodhounds? Send out an APB? :smooth:

the hounds have been fed and are ready for the hunt. Give the word and i'll unleash them.

Shall we ask rash to gallop along?

Naturally. I have no intention of doing anything else. Tony was far from the only DIS-er I have interacted with, and I have plenty of friends here and elsewhere.
If Tony's choice is to stop that contact it's fine. I'm not willing to brand him as rude yet, because he may have a good reason for not replying. But if he just decided to bow out I agree, it wasn't particularly nice to ignore my attempts to contact him. Oh well, that's the way it goes, online "friends" are often not what they appear to be, it's a lesson I need to learn and relearn.

Wow you're willing to admit that to a crazed internet predator?

Sure, you never know when a talking horse will come in handy.

Mar,
I see nothing wrong with trying to track someone down. Whether the relationship be on line or face to face, there is still a relationship.

I agree with the others, it was nice of you to care enough to go searching. Hopefully if I show up missing, someone will do that for me!

You have nothing to feel ashamed of.

It's always about Rash. Rash this, Rash that. What about asking a Toon to help out? Cartoons have feelings too. I feel like Jan on the Brady Bunch.
Rash, Rash, Rash! Hmmm, I feel a song coming on...

Here's a story, of a bunch of crazies,
Who had pointless lives that filled them with remorse.
All of them were Disney nuts
Like Tooneric,
And one a talking horse.

Till the one day, this board was founded,
And they knew that this was much more than hunch.
That this group, must somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became DVC Bunch.
D-V-C Bunch, D-V-C Bunch.
That's the way we all became DVC Bunch.

2005 Season
Episode 1: Why CM's hate DVCers.
Episode 2: Where's Greenban?
Episode 3: Hanname!
Episode 4: Where's Dr. Tomorrow?
Episode 5: Idratherbeinwdw Finally Reveals Off Kilter's Secret.
Episode 6: Elbow Calypso a Go Go.
Episode 7: Show cancelled due to bad poetry.

And how exactly could a toon help? Drop an anvil on your head? Get hit by a milktruck and survive? Fall off a skyscraper, flatten like a pancake on the sidewalk, then peel yourself off the ground and walk away?

I'm a TALKING THOROUGHBRED man! 3 dimensions of supreme strength, agility, intelligence, and raw sex-appeal. You willingly accept lit bombs until they blow up in your face. Cased closed.

I didn't really plan to enter this conversation but at this point cannot help myself.

So, what you're saying, Mr. Rash, is that you're a Stud-muffin?

There's absolutely nothing inappropriate about your concern for Greenban. I'd like to know where he is too. Personally, if he is reading this thread and just not responding, I hope he does contact you privately. Even on-line friends shouldn't let their buddies languish in limbo.

That's Dr. Rash.. and I've been called worse, so sure, I guess stud-muffins' okay.

Thanks for the support fkj2 and Kathyseb, very nice of you to post what you did. You both ( along with llovell's earlier post) made me smile and feel a lot better. :goodvibes

Excellent song Toon, loved it! And of course there's always room for a toon. That and jello.

Rash you don't have to brag and hurt poor Toon's feelings. Any lack of muscular ability isn't his fault. He was Drawn that way. (BTW I heard Jessica Rabbit is crazy about him).
