Ok before you tell me I'm completely insane.. trust me.. I know:rotfl:
Now that that's out of the way..

I am trying to price a Universal hotel for the 29th and 30th of December. It's saying nothing is available. Could all 3 resorts be sold out of every room for those two days already? I know it's a capacity crowd week, but we're still 6 months away.
Just wondering if anyone had any insight.:)

there are times during a holiday period/high season that the hotels can possibly impose a 4 night stay.

if hotels don't sell out, it can be lowered to the 2 night stay.

why don't you call and ask a TM what the situation is, or send an email?

could be that there are rooms available but not showing on the website.
if you call, you can get more info about those dates.

Thank you:)
I played around a little and it appears I can book the Saturday/Sunday as a 2 day stay, but if I want the Friday/Saturday I have to include the Sunday.
I literally just started kicking this idea around this morning. Decided we have been to Disney and Universal enough that we might actually enjoy just being there and doing a few things and not mind that we didn't get to hit everything we usually do.
I'll call tomorrow after husband and I kick the idea around a bit more. I always said I'd NEVER do that week. But we could stay in the area until the 7th so our last few days would be much lower crowds so we'd manage.
Still thinking hard on this one:idea:

with NYE that weekend, i am assuming that is the reason for the restrictions on how many nights you need to book.

I woke up this morning cured of whatever madness had overtaken my brain yesterday. It's still a possibility, but we can go the last week of February with much lower crowds and better prices on airfare, resorts and food.
I'm still going to think it over a little, but I don't think this is a very good idea.

Be aware that this year MANY schools are off till JAn 7th due to the way the holiday falls.I wouldn;t expect any crowds to die down completely till after the 7th

Yeah, it will still be busy. Just not Christmas/New Years day busy towards the end of the week.
Like I mentioned, the idea is seeming crazier and crazier by the minute. We've been so much though that I really wonder if we could just make it a different kind of trip. We are anything but park commandos these days. The plan would be to get up at the crack of early, hit early entry, ride what we could with our FOL passes after early entry and hightail it out of there by 11.

I could conceivably have a really good trip just doing that and enjoying downtime at the resort and having nice meals in the evening.

We were just there in May, we going for almost two weeks at the end of August as well. So I think we'd be fine. But I need to think on it a bit more.

I've been playing around with it and haven't been able to book anything less than a 4 night stay, but I'm needing to stay NYE. A few days ago, all of the hotels were available for the 4 nights up to and including NYE.
