Notes from recent shareholder meeting

Very interesting - thank you. :)

This quite surprised me -

High-end hotels and budget hotels are the most requested. "The rich continue to come to DLH", people who were want an intermediate hotel often downsize to the Santa Fe or Cheyenne

I would have thought that Sequoia Lodge and the Newport Bay would be as popular. :confused3 But what do I know?!

Ohh I like the idea of a gold membership of shareholders, but I wonder what you have to do to be gold?? Buy more shares maybe?

"...website will be completely redone to be more intuitive, even Philippe Gas said that it is hard to find what you are looking for." Really glad to see this, the website as it stands at the moment is awful. It's over reliance on flash makes it impossible to use on an iPad/iPhone and my low end netbook struggles with it as well. There's very little in the way of practical information which means that if I want to know something like menus or even a map of the park I go to DLRPMagic instead.

"The disrepair of the Tower of Terror was also mentioned"

Does anyone know what this refers to??

I was wondering about this, too! I have never noticed that the tower is in a state of disrepair (well, apart from the themeing which is supposed to look like that! :rotfl:)

OP, thanks for posting this - made an interesting read! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting that, I found it very interesting reading. I'll be interested to see what you'd have to do to be a gold shareholder too. Also, I totally agree with the website needing to be changed. It is woefully inadequate and the lack of any real information on it is terrible.

Fascinating reading so thank you for posting that; no mention of their predictions/response to the impending financial crisis that looks increasingly inevitable; could really damage the park if the Euro is hit as hard as some predict.

Glad to see they are bringing in a loyalty system, that was one of the things i suggested in that survey they did a few months back so thats good to see they take points on board.

Any ideas on the redesign of the studios park and how that would work? Cant even begin to imagine how that would go; its so based on movies wouldnt a change of theme result in a huge change of attractions offered? Would be gutted to see the end of Cinemagique!

Very interesting reading - thank you!

Will be keeping an eye on the shareholders bit especially :thumbsup2

Yep..parts of the outside of the building are not in a very good state and shouldn't be looking this bad only 5 years after opening ;)

A lot of those minutes seem not to have been translated so some of the details have been lost

Shareholders

A shareholder asked if that as a PA holder or a shareholder club member, we are entitled to special treatment in hotels (obviously, she wanted to have VIP treatment). Moreover, she questions a "Gold" shareholder club card, she would have heard about in the park.
On this last point, no, no "Gold" shareholder club card. However, management does not ruleout future changes in the terms and conditions of access to the club, and create different status (with different benefits) depending on the length of time that share have been held or number of shares owned.
Regarding the status of "VIP" in hotels, theoretically shareholders and PA have "special attention". Hotels are aware of who you are, simply because it goes through various booking centers.
The discussion deviates slightly on PA, where Philippe Gas confirms the arrival of the famous "super PA Dream", but that implementation takes time, because you have to set up new services that understand what new PA comprises of, before the sale of them.

Oooh I wonder if we are all rushing out to up our number of shares just in case there is any chance in either more/less benefits in the future as the share price has suddenly gone up today.....not by huge amounts, but a definite mini surge :confused3! Just when I was thinking to top up as well
