Ticket prices may be up again at Disney but they are going to be the ones that get my business instead of Universal until they change their customer service.

Let me just say the I love both Universal and Island of adventure. Only stay on site, normally at the Portifinao Hotel and this will be the third and last time to buy 2 year two park preferred annual passes (that is 6 years that I have had annual passes).

The reason behind my anger is this: I was on the internet (the offical Universal website) last week and found a great price for Halloween Horror tickets, well I tried to order them, called and said that I had to activate my card, so I make a speacial trip there this weekend just to activate my card. I also printed out the pages on the website to cya. Well now I can not even put my new card on their website because they said that their site is down for card holders, do not know when it will be back up and they will not help me in anyway. So this will be the last time that I buy there annual pass and most likely will not stay onsite and now it has left such a sour taste in my mind that I do not want to even go to HHN this year. I do not want to give them anymore of my money than I already have. At least at disney they will give you the discount without activating the annual pass (which I know from first hand expirence.) The manager at Universal even had the nerve to tell me that they took down the price before and that my computer must have had cookies that saved it after he said that they took it down a week ago and I told him that it was wrong that I printed and tried on Tuesday.

Thank you guys for letting me vent. It does not make me feel any better but I guess it helps because I want everyone to know what lousy service that they have. Disney might be expensive but they still have free fast pass and their customer service is better and Universal is not much cheaper and you either have to pay a pretty penny to stay onsite for the fastpass or buy it seperate.

Did you try back again and speak w/ someone different?? I wouldn't let it "lie" with just one try. Universal is usually pretty good about customer satisfaction.......Since you've had an AP for so long, you must have been satisfied all these years.....don't let ONE incident ruin it for you. Call them back and try w/ someone else. Good luck :thumbsup2

You could have bought the HHN tickets for the AP rate at Guest Services while you were at the parks activating your AP. The same special deals for HHN tickets online are available at Guest Services inside the park.

At least at disney they will give you the discount without activating the annual pass (which I know from first hand expirence.)

Sometimes you can. It just depends on who you get on the phone at Disney. You can read several posts where people couldn't get the discount without having an activated AP from Disney. You also normally get the real AP when you order an AP from Disney. If you do just get a voucher instead of the AP from Disney, you can NOT log into the AP site either.

this was not the $51.07 AP rate this was a special order online in advance rate. it most likely will not keep me from going back ever just not as often. I was (and still am) just really upset that I went through all of the trouble and the guy on the phone was no help and he said he was a supervisor.

Thank you guys for all of the words of encouragement. I am feeling a little less ticked off

we tried to do it with MNSSHP lasy year, our AP's needed renewing. they wouldn't let me renew them over the phone. we were told we had to go to the TTC with our old AP's and ID's to renew and purchase the party tickets.

the TTC said they could only sell us the party tickets, not renew our AP's. we had to buy the MSSNP tickets at full price, then go to Guest Relations to get a refund on the discount.

Guest Relations renewed our AP's and then said they couldn't give us a discount, because we had puchased the MNSSHP tickets IN ADVANCE.

we eventually got the discount refunded to us. not all encounters with WDW service are sunshine and 'magic'.

Unless things have changed very recently, you can log into the Disney AP site with a voucher -- as well as making discount hotel ressies, getting their dining discount card, etc. And you never get a real APs from Disney through the mail -- only a voucher.

sorry skyfairy you went through that.

i could not use the online store to buy my hhn w/ ap as there has been a glitch in it.

i called universal and bought the tickets over the phone as they said it is unknown when the computer error would be fixed. they did not have 2 hhn dates loaded in the system and could not sell tixs for those days is what one employee told me for the reason it was down.

i had no problem at all in buying over the phone and stil getting the discount.
i might still have the name of he employee that did this transaction if you want to call and talk to her.

i totally and completely love HHN...........i am addicted to it.

3 years ago i got really bummed out and it did aggravate me n the first night at HHN but i was able to get past it, barely.......

i had checked into HRH at 8ish in the morning. knew the room would not be ready so went to the park. i called a few times and stil no room available.
went back to the hotel as i needed to get to the room and put on my chain saw wolf tshirt.

go to the front desk and still no room........finally got one after 4 but the lock did not work.
it took until 4:50 for the locksmith to fix it.

i ran to the park so i could get into the stay and scream area.
yes, hot and sweaty but once i was inside the park, all the bad thoughts went away.

no matter how ticked i can get over something important to me going wrong, i could never stay away from HHN..

go and buy your tickets. do it over the phone.
or like the other poster said, buy them at gs.

Just read this and realized what Amity 3 was saying -- there's a special phone number for renewing APs over the phone. You can also do it on-line. We had no problem renewing ours two years ago over the phone. You just have to call the right department or log-in to the AP site to take care of it.

We actually stopped getting Disney APs though, as the 10-day no expiration tickets work out much better for us with some careful planning.

macravn, thanks for the information it most likely will not stop me from going this year or the next since I already have the annual passes but with the customer service and the proce of the HHN tickets getting so outrageously priced after that I do not know if I will be attending and I am like you I love HHN, US, IOA and city walk. And I can get the $51 price throught the phone but the price that I found last week was $37. Thank you for the information, though.

And about the disney passes, you get a voucher like a previous poster stated and you can log into the pass holder website.

Thanks again everyone for your support it is wonderful to have a place to come and vent your frustrations.

what was frustrating was I called the AP holder line. their excuse was we had to do it in person because we're FL residents and had to show ID to get the resident pricing, even though I could verify my information to them.

why would anyone call up and renew OUR AP's for us? the credit card I was using was the same I initially purchased the original AP's with, and our bio's are registered at the gates.

we dropped to two Forida SP's and one AP to get the free parking. so WDW has actually lost money on us over the incident.

and we haven't gotten a single Mickey Monitor since we renewed.

ITA!!! For every nightmare Universal story, there's one for WDW just like it. It seems people have a way of glossing over or forgetting the negative things WDW does though. :confused3

Speaking of problems getting tickets..... My DH, DS, & I went to GS @ DTD to pick up some FL res. hopper passes. We were all 3 in line together & all 3 have the same last name. After waiting in line for almost an hour, the girl at GS wouldn't sell me a pass w/o checking my license 1st. That I could understand, but she wouldn't even issue the pass & hold it until I brought my license back to prove to her that I was a FL res. We had to go back to the van to get my license, then stand in that long line all over again to purchase the passes. Now I know that you should never try to purchase FL res. tickets, unless everyone in your party has their license with them. I also know that you should never expect them to work with you to resolve the problem in the easiest way possible. Wish I'd known that before this not so pleasant experience. :sad2:

Oh, those encounters with WDW service are definitely not all magic. Reminds me of my discussion with them about being charged $10 at the parking gate to be dropped off at Animal Kingdom by taxi.

at least I'm not the only one out there with the same problem. our family has a great connection with MK and the TOT and Fantasmic. if it weren't for those factors, I would have dropped our WDW passes by now.

thanks for the affirmation, neighbor. ;)

you know, i saw that $37 price too.
i asked about it when i was on the phone and was told they had errors when posting the hhn info and it was taken down as it was not valid.

UO told me they could not honor the special price as it was due to a computer glitch and was removed soon after it was up there.

the only cheaper hhn tix are for the first weekend.

i figured with what it is costing me to fly out of chicago and stay on site, buy tickets, ap, car service..............i wasn't going to argue over the special price. i was so glad i could get to buy them on the phone.

sky, maybe you will find a $20 bill on the ground when you go to HHN.

:teeth:

i always look on the ground for green stuff........ :rolleyes1
