Not Using Magicbands Question

I am not sure we will purchase Magicbands for this trip- ours are pretty old and I am not sure I will even bring them. My question is can I punch a hole in my family's ticket cards so I can hang them on a lanyard or caribeener clip so they are easier to carry and access, rather than in my bag? If so, is there a place to avoid punching the hole?

I don't know that there is a safe place to puncture them. If you choose to bring your MagicBands, they will still work for almost all functions.

Do not punch a whole in the ticket. There is a chip somewhere inside it. Put it in a sleeve and use a lanyard. But the old bands are still good.

I don't know if you are staying at a Disney resort, but Magicbands are free with your reservation so no additional purchase is necessary.

Old Magicbands will still be usable, I use my old ones all the time :)

I wouldn't punch a hole, just get a plastic cardholder pouch to use with the lanyard or carabineer - you won't have to take them out of the pouch to access the park entrance or FP+ options.

Your MB's from a prior trip should still work for park access and FP+ as well if anyone in your party prefers them. I have some from the very first days of MB that work just fine:)

Yep.

Thanks everyone! We aren't staying on property, so no new magic bands. My family is not big on wearing them, even when we stay on property. I will get a lanyard or something to put them in. Thanks for the input!

You can purchase inexpensive lanyards with a little coin purse and place to slip in your ticket attached (ticket is viewable and can be scanned). We buy them for Disneyland and a package of 3 are about $10 on Amazon.

I suggest buying a lanyard with a plastic pouch that has a zipper/slider thing on top to keep your tickets and room key securely inside.

I've seen these in Home Depot and office supply stores like Staples. :)

Not sure about punching a hole in them.
You could buy lanyards that are made to hold things like tickets so they have a sleeve attached to them.
But why not use your old magic bands???

I want to be able to get the video from the Mine Train and I am not sure the batteries in our old bands will work. Also, my family really does not like wearing the bands. None of us find them comfortable!

I am thinking I will buy myself a new magic band and just send it on the ride with whoever rides. I can get one of the clips to hold it or hang it on my belt loop.
