not understanding capt, jacks...plz help

Very cool, Paddy! Thanks for taking the time to post those...already made our ADR's for May, but I would definitely have loved to try the salmon.

Somebody told me you make great margaritas...oh wait...that was you who said that, huh? :rotfl2: We won't be able to go to Cap'n Jack's for dinner this time, but is there a separate bar so we could stop in for a drink anyway?

Thanks for posting the menu.
I will cancel our ADR.
I would have been so dissapointed to go and not be able to get the steak.

It looks like the ribs are gone, too. That's what I almost got last time and decided to get next time.

Can you tell me if french fries are available?

Thanks for posting the updated menu.... but what really sux is we need to decide whether to cancel our ADRs or go anyway.... we both really wanted to have the Steak and Lobster tail and that was our reason for choosing this restaurant for our first night there... doesn't seem to be much choice left on the menu!

Ok...I am SOOOO disappointed now:snooty: . I was going to call in our reservation tomorrow. I had my heart set on that Seafood Pasta with the clams and crab and shrimp. Copeland;s serves something like it. Ah well...back to the drawing board.

The menu looks pretty good to me!!! I think I'll cancel one of my other ADR's and get one at CJ's. :goodvibes

Interesting. DH and I don't eat seafood -- I will eat fish occasionally, but no shellfish, and he can't eat either one. However, it seems the main draw for Cap'n Jack's, the specialty of the house, is the twin lobster tails. There is no other 1 TS restaurant on the dining plan that serves lobster. So many other restaurants at WDW do steak that I'm surprised anyone would go to Cap'n Jack's wanting to order beef. And the seafood pasta dish may have changed a bit, but they still offer a shrimp penne with lobster cream sauce. They also offer those twin lobster tails, roast chicken, pasta alfredo (vegetarian or with chicken), salmon, pot roast, crab cakes, both New England and Manhattan style clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, spinach dip...doesn't seem like their menu is any more limited than any other WDW restaurant, and it's a pretty good selection for a moderately priced seafood place. :confused3 The only thing really missing from their menu is maybe a white fish dish like fillet of sole. Ah well, I'm sure there are enough lobster lovers out there to keep those tables full, and they probably wouldn't care if there was nothing but lobster on the menu!

That would be me - LOBSTER :thumbsup2 Have ADRs for one night and DH says I should book it a second.

Thanks for posting, Paddy! I'm sitting here salivating over crab cakes, crab cake melt (sounds good!) and that picture of the twin lobster tails! I have an ADR at Cap'n Jacks in September and I can't wait!

Man, that margarita looks good too!

Thanks for the updated menus! I think I'm going to have to make a ressie here after seeing that picture. I don't think DH will mind a break from his usual choice of steak!

I actually wanted the steak and lobster because I know I love steak, but have never had Lobster! I love crab legs, but won't be able to have them just hope I like lobster tail. Would hate to order something and find that I don't care for it, with nothing else to fall back on... also, Don't really care for rice pilaf though...plain rice or a type of potato would work much better for me.

I like crab and I like lobster. I like them both in butter. I would say the lobster will be similar in taste, crab may be alittle sweeter, but the consistency may be alittle firmer like shrimp but not quite as firm........if that helps.........or at least that is my interpretation.

DS exchanged mashed potatoes for rice and it was yummy. I plan to ask for the potatoes in September.

ps Crab cake appetizer is excellent as well.
