OK All you DVC Veterans. I am a "virgin" (first timer) renting points on this site from a DVC Owner. My question is: If a purchase a reservation (points) from a DVC Owner, Am I still considered "a guest" of the resort with similar "perks of other guests (ie, use of the pool, participate in hotel activities, eat at the restaurants, etc?). Please review this thread I started on the AKL sight a few hours ago. I'm in need of some advice...from the DVC experts

My guess is that if you have a reservation number at AKV and a reservation in your name you can book the Wanyama safari.

We are owners, we went as a couple, but if I had friends/family staying on my points, my impression was that they could have come with us on that safari.

You are most definitely a guest.

Regardless of what financial arrangement you have made with the DVC member, anyone staying in a room who is also listed on the DVC reservation is a resort guest.

Searching the Disneyworld.com website, it states:
Wanyama Safari and Dinner is exclusively for Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas .
Since you are staying at the resort, you are a guest and eligible for the Safari. The only things you are not eligible for are the DVC Member benefits that require you to be a member staying at a DVC resort on points. Call again and if the Cast Member you speak to cannot help you, ask for a supervisor. Enjoy the safari!!

dwicks4, I just answered on the resort forum, too. I wonder if the problem was that the CM can't deal with your reservation ahead of time since you don't "own" it....the member does. I would try again but if that still fails, try booking at the lobby concierge once you arrive and have checked in.
