I got the 40%:confused last night and ask about with a code. The Cm even went further himself to find the correct code to get me the 40% .I ask about a pin # and he said it was not needed with this code it was pretty much for general use.So how can Disney take away a discount that was offered to me by A cast member.....
See, this sort of post is why I wonder if people are calling for the PIN code, are actually being booked using the public WWOD promo, but think they were booked using the PIN code? I don't think this is what happened in every case, but it's possible that it did in some cases.
If you're booked using the WWOD discount, then you shouldn't have to worry about your price going up to rack rate in all this mess. If you were booked using a PIN code you weren't eligible for, then you might need to worry. I mentioned this on another thread, but it applies here - Last year, I booked a package. Because of misinformation on my part and an honest mistake on the CMs part, I was booked using a great discount. Turns out that I wasn't eligible for it, though. Disney called back and said I could pay rack rate or cancel the reservation. In fact, it was my original CM who called and it seemed pretty obvious that supervisors were hovering right behind her and were not at all pleased. Luckily, we all understood the problem and I had been prepared to pay the regular package price to begin with, so it got resolved.
All I'm saying is don't fool yourself into thinking they won't call. We won't know if they will this time until they do, but the PR argument won't hold up. Maybe something else will do it, but it won't be that.
(Before anyone asks, the 'accidental' discount I got was for a very un-busy time of year, so it was not cancelled in hopes of getting top dollar for teh room....)
Good luck to everyone!
