We are visiting DL for the first time in December. We finally are at 60 days and can start making our PS's. Does anyone have restaurants that we MUST go to? We were thinking of desserts at BB. What others? :confused3

We like Carnation Cafe for lunch (have not had breakfast there but heard it is good) and we always do a character breakfast when we travel with DS. When just DH and I go we skip them. We have tried Goofy's for breakfast and dinner and both were great and Storyteller's was good for breakfast but character interaction was not the best for us. We have PS's for Napa Rose chef counter this trip which will be a first for us eating there.

We usually order groceries, breakfast stuff, water and pop to keep costs down and be able to do stuff like tours, etc. DH is not a big breakfast person so we usually just grab something small for lunch in the parks and actualy have dinner somewhere else.. Rainforest and House of Blues have been places we have had good meals at too.

Well I can't comment on restaurants since I haven't been to DL in years and years, but I can tell you where we are going while there next week...

PS for:
- Minnie and Friends character breakfast
- Rainforest Cafe
- ESPN zone

We left everything else open.

We were looking at Cafe Orleans for lunch or dinner. We also looked at Storyteller's. What characters are there? I had heard they had a special Christmas buffet. :santa: We also thought of Napa Rose for Christmas but we have kids so thought it may be too pricey with the kids.

Thanks for the tip!

We always do RFC in DTD, we love BB and CO was good too. We like RBT but it's CS so you don't need a PS there (we love breakfast there) and we like Minnie & Friends character breakfast and Lilo & Stitch as well. If you've got girls who love Princesses Ariel's Grotto is great. We have a lot of places we haven't gone yet as well, we will be working on that soon hopefully. :)

Dh and I recently went to Steakhouse 55 for an anniversary dinner. It was great and I'm not even a steak lover! We had lunch at Carnation Cafe, very casual and the loaded baked potato soup was to die for! DH and I shared the soup and a sandwich which filled us up. Storytellers is great for breakfast, like PP said not as much character interaction. Which might not matter depending on who is in your group. Bon Appetite!

When we had breakfast at Storytellers we saw Chip and Dale, Terk from Tarzan, Koda and Kenai from brother bear. Thats all I can think of right now. We have done breakfast there three times. It's our favorite. Try the banana stuffed french toast. Its delish!

We LOVED breakfast at Carnation Cafe. It was really good. And the chef (Chef Oscar) came around to talk to everyone (he's been there over 50 years!). I'd also recommend Cafe Orleans. The Monte Cristo is to die for!

Can you make priority seating for the rainforest cafe? If so do they have the same policy for 60 days out for PS?

Is it character's only for breakfast. Is it a buffet?

Thanks!! :santa:

Characters are at Storytellers for breakfast only, yes. I think I read here somewhere that Chip & Dale don't come out anymore after 10.30 AM.

They do buffet, but you can order from the menu as well.

They have their own number to call. At least they did last summer. I didn't call ahead but stopped by while there and they gave me a card with the number. Don't know if they do a PS or a reservation. We ended up not eating there this time after all.

You can actually make reservations there up to a year in advance. I just called them today. There number is 714.772.0413

It's outside the gates (but only about a 5 minute walk), but Mimi's Cafe breakfast is to die for good. Try the Pain Perdu (french toast stuffed with cream cheese and orange marmalade mixture) or the pumpkin pancakes with caramel apples on top!

Thanks so much for the Rainforest Cafe number, I had no idea you could call for ps with them :goodvibes

Also, the RFC has a Safari Club that I think you pay $10 for but according to their website you get a $10 new member voucher of some sort plus you get 10% off entrees and merchandise and you get priority seating without having to call or check-in in advance. The website also said that you get free renewals for "active acounts". We've never joined but we have friends who did and they said they got a free appetizer every time they went but i didn't see that on the website so maybe they've changed their offer. I'm not positive if this offer is good at the RFC in DTD since i think our friends always went to the one in Ontario (maybe someone out there knows for sure). It seems like it would be good there but i didn't see anything saying either way.

Napa Rose, while expensive, is fabulous! I went there for my birthday and couldn't decide what to order and ended up getting two appetizers instead of a standard entree. It was fantastic! Food, service and ambience is great! They even gave me a box of truffles for my birthday!
