Not to get too personal here, but (preg. related)

I did for weeks! It started out as spotting, then got heavier to the point where I thought I lost her (worst weekend of my life) and then tapered off. Had HCG tests and a ******l ultrasound and the little lima bean was just fine! My OB said I may have had a twin I lost and that accounted for the heaviness but she couldn't be sure. In any event, DD is 4yo and doing great!

Also, my mom had her period for the first 4 months with my youngest brother, boy was she surprised when the doc said she was pg! She was 42 and her age may have had something to do with it also.

See, there are many reasons and usually things are just fine. I know the waiting is the hardest part so here is a

I did somewhere in my first trimester. Called the doctor who told me he thought my body thought it should have a period. Told me to spend the entire weekend laying down, feet up, doing NOTHING. DS is now 11 years. :)

My DSIL spotted with her son last year, but Levi is healthy and huge, the doctor had her come in for Ultrasounds, but said it was normal. My other DSIL is going through this now, but the doctor said her HCG levels are rising, and she is scheduled for an U/S on Thursday. Best of luck to you.

I did with both my kids and went on to have healthy babies.

Continued prayers & pixie dust to you!!!!

I bled for several months with DS #1, and he was born at a healthy 9 lbs. I was running to the OB every other day thinking I was miscarrying, but thank God that was not the case.

I remember the doctor telling me at that time if the blood is dark that is not really anything to worry about -- its when its bright red they get concerned. The blood I was losing was dark. I did take pregesterone (sp?) after I started bleeding as well.

Best of luck with your pregnancy.

Good luck. I have heard of people spotting and they went on to have healthy babies. I'm glad you're going to the dr to make sure. Plus, you'll probably get to see your little one on tv today.:)

I don't know much about spotting and pregnancy. I didn't myself. But it sounds as if many on this thread did or know someone who did, so I am sure you will be just fine. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a healthy pregnancy. :)

I did not bleed with #1 and #2, but with #3 I had a HUGE, heavy bleed at about 5.5 weeks along. I was 100% sure I was having a miscarriage, it was so bad that I couldn't imagine that I could possibly still be pregnant. Went to the Dr, and they did an ultrasound and I was certainly still pregnant! They determined it to be a Subchorionic Hematoma, which in simplistic terms is a uterine bleed. They don't know the true cause (there are many theories, one being that there were actually twins and one was miscarried). It does increase your chance for a mc than the average, normal pregnancy, but as each week passes, that risk drops a lot. Mine was small, and everything turned out perfectly fine. See Ben in my sig., healthy 6 month old now! :)

Obviously I don't know if this is what you are experiencing, but if it is, chances are that everything will be fine. Hang in there!!!!

I remember the doctor telling me at that time if the blood is dark that is not really anything to worry about -- its when its bright red they get concerned.

I had spotting with all 3 of my pregnancies, my OB said the same thing to me about the color of the blood. The spotting stopped around 12 weeks and I had no other problems after that.

Good luck with your pregnancy!:sunny:

Well, luckilly today the spotting is very light and so far, no cramping. I had more blood drawn today and I'll probably hear from my doctor either wed or thursday. Hopefully my levels are going up!

Thanks again everyone, I feel so much better hearing all of these positive stories.

I spotted at two different times with my second daugther. It terrified me because I had my first one at 26 weeks. Both times with my second DD I had to go to the doctor and be checked and have an ultra sound. Both times everything was normal. I now have a very healthy, very active 3 1/2 year old. I think she was trying to warn me of what was to come. Good Luck!!

I was 43, had already had 3 miscarriages at about 13 weeks. So, when I started spotting at week 12, I just knew it was happening again. Tearfully told my dh that once again it wasn't going to happen. Called my doctor and he told me to come in for an ultrasound. As I lay there, I knew what I was going to be told. When the technician told me to check it out, I was stunned. There was a very healthy beating heart!!! Everything was fine. I guess my face was priceless when I went back to the waiting room. My dh put his arms around me and said "Don't worry honey. We'll get thru this. Maybe we should get another dog." His reaction was priceless when I told him all was fine.
So, it can mean nothing at all. Stay calm. If there is spotting and it starts to get heavier and you start cramping, then you can start worrying. I know...I've had it both ways...spotting and then three miscarriages....spotting and a healthy baby.
