Not the usual Dolphins in Depth question...

Hi all,

I had a slightly different Dolphins in Depth question for those who have done it...

Is there any way my parents would be able to see us participating in any part of this? I'm bringing my gf and parents down to Disney as a Christmas gift and was looking into doing this with my gf.

I was wondering if there's any way my parents can see anything happening during the 3 hours we do this, or should they just plan to meet us afterward?

Unless you plan on paying for two extra spots, they cannot participate in the tour in any way...so you should plan on meeting them afterwards.

What about the part where we come out in public in some roped off area? How long does that last?

It's not that long. When I did it, it was maybe about 5-10 minutes long. Almost the entire time was spent backstage.

Thanks that helps - think it would be worth to bring them with me even if they didn't want to get in the water? Thought they might still enjoy doing it with us (minus the dolphin interaction)

The dolphin interaction is about 20-30 minutes...out of a 3 hour tour (ok, all of a sudden Gilligan's Island is playing in my head ). It's not required that you get in the water with the dolphins. The rest of the tour is spent learning about the dolphins (anatomy, training), what they do at The Living Seas, and about conservation. If that's something that you know they would enjoy, definitely sign them up!

Don't know if you're using it already, but the Birnbaum's guide has a coupon for Dolphins in Depth...15% off for up to 4 people. Might help you save some money.

We had a great Dolphins in Depth expereince...so much fun!! It is like a school field trip...very educational! Everyone statements are correct though. The dolphin time was great and we did get to spend about 45mins with them and we did get alone time with each dolphin. It was well worth it for us! Yeah, the part outside in the Living Seas is like 10mins, so it's quick! Plus, we got to go to EPCOT for free! Shhhh...don't tell anyone! It was the day Tropical Storm Alberto hit, so everyone was trapped inside and they decided not to kick us out. How sweet! You spend most of your time getting in and out of your wet suit...haha!!! Here's our pic!!
