Really, in my random thinking in the shower, it dawned on me that the Heinz ketchup factory would be an ideal place to try out John Kerry's plans for America.
Now I recognize that John Kerry does not own the ketchup factory, but certainly he would have some influence. (That's the way it is in our middle class home--my dh makes suggestions for my work and I make suggestions for his work--sometimes we heed, but sometimes not). We know that there are some great companies to work for out there (ie Ben and Jerry's initially: the owners did not make more than three (?) times the lowest paid employee, SAS shoes who gave their employees a sizeable bonus according to their years of service and USAA who has some great onsite daycare.
I tell you, I would really be impressed if John Kerry could stand up and say: We have onsite subsidized day care for our workers, our minimum starting wage is $7.00/hour, everyone has health care with premiums equal to 1 percent of their pay to with small copays and no deductibles, our employees can take up to a year's paid leave after birth or adoption, we give scholarships to all of our employees' children providing they do community work during the summer, our employees are guaranteed a job as long as they meet minimum requirements and yet our company still realizes a profit that keeps our board of trustees (and Theresa) happy.
I admit I am a Bush supporter, but I am not saying this because of maliciousness. Heck, this may be happening at the Heinz company. If it is, I may even change my vote. John Kerry seems to think this is possible in America.

That is pretty funny though. Betcha she wouldn't go for his ideas, but we're supposed to buy into them.
Just like he says he will do for the currently outsourced companies.
