we took our Disney (er...um..I mean the FLORIDA Band Trip :teeth: ) survey today and we had to choose amongst dinner theatres we may attend.

So which dinner theatre would you recommend and why?

Please and thanks!!!

We enjoyed Dixie Stampede, and for a dinner show the food was not too bad at all.

We've done Arabian Nights on our last two band trips to WDW and the kids throughly enjoyed it! Nice Equestrian show, decent food! As a big group in attendance, they really play it up to you and for you! The Genie was fantastic!

I've done Arabian Nights and Dixie Stampede. The food is way better at Dixie Stampede, but I think the entertainment is better at Arabian Nights, especially for a younger crowd. I have yet to do Pirates and Medieval Times, but I look forward to trying both of them.

I've been to all of them and Dixie Stampede is by far the best. Here are just of few of the reasons why...

Seating:
There are no bad seats in their arena whereas some of the other shows have many seats with obstructed views or very oblique angle views that make for a less enjoyable experience. At Medieval Times we could barely see what was going on and the audio was very poor making it rather difficult to follow the show. At Pirates they've built a gorgeous pirate ship set but unfortunately all the riggings and masts and suchtend to obscure the show itself.

Cuisine:
The food is head and shoulders better than the other shows as far as quality and taste. It it isn't fancy but it is very tasty and easily recognizable. Some of the food at Pirates was just unrecognizable and gross. Although, if you have a lot of hockey players in your band they'll like the dessert at Medieval Times because it bears a suspicious resemblance to a hockey puck. But the hockey puck may be softer.

Show:
Dixie Stampede's show is just good clean fun. No worries about costume malfunctions, tacky double entendres or off color humor. The cast is really marvelous and the horses are beautiful. Some of the other shows try to have a storyline which IMO just ends up seeming silly and contrived. Dixie Stampede starts off with more of a revue on horseback and then ends up with a fun competition between the 2 sides of the arena. The kids also get to be loud during parts of the show which is a great way for them to let off some of that excess teenage energy.

I thank you all for your opinions!! I wish I would have went in knowing these things or else I would have voted better!!

BroadwayGirl-your knowledge is awesome! Thanks for the input!!

BandBob-Good tip about Arabian Nights! Our group is expected to have 80+ members by the time we go...will that impact anything? Thank you!

F1Julie-Thanks! I may have to change my vote now...

Amyrlin-Thanks!

I picked the Arabian Nights one. I have never seen it, but have read in several places that it is one of the best in the country.

However!
DON'T DO THE PIRATES DINNER ADVENTURE!
We went about 3 years ago with a 1/2 off discount and still did not think that it was worth it at all!!!

TigerDance!
We've taken 135-140 to on our last two trips! And there was plenty of room! They selected some our kids to play a small part in show on our first trip! They were very accomodating for our group! Both trips enjoyed wonderful shows! Hope that helps!
