Hello,

I am not sure on where to put this. I am just curious of the new rules through the DVC. i just wanted to purchase small at first (25 points) then work my way up in the points but now with this new rule into play I am not sure which way to go. Should i buy small now before the 20th or should I wait till after the 20th. What exactly does all of this mean anyway? Where will I not be able to reserve? Will I still be able to reserve at the BCV that is where I was thinking of buying for my home resort. Also, is the timeshare store the best place to go and buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The new rules announced will not impact you booking at a DVC resort, even if you do it after 3/20, it will impact booking outside of DVC resorts - the Disney collection (hotels), cruises, etc.

Yes, depending of course on availability at the 7 month window if you didn't own at Aulani, and the number of points you had.

Yes, you'll still be able to make reservations at any of the Disney Vacation Club resorts. You'll also be able to make a reservation (if available) through a 3rd party Disney uses for trips around the world. You just won't be able to stay with points at non-DVC hotels like Grand Floridian or use points to book Disney cruises or Adventures by Disney trips.

I think what some are worried about are other changes that may or may not come later down the road. Disney has seemed to "grandfather" in contracts purchased prior to 3/21 (submitted to ROFR by 3/20). Those contracts will have the same benefits as contracts purchased directly from Disney. Anything purchased through the resale market after that will fall under the new rules. Of course, anything purchased directly through Disney will have full benefits.

25 points is a start now a whole trip..... I was just curious. Is that a problem
