Hi, I'm new to these boards & this is my first post!

I have been to WDW 2x, once in Aug. 97 for our honeymoon & once this past Oct. 04 for Halloween, with our 3 children (2, 4 & 6)

We are trying to plan our next Disney vacation around the school schedule for 2006. Our choices are Easter week, Thanksgiving week, or right after school lets out (June 14th I believe).

I'm reading about the crowds on Easter, is that the most crowded holiday? What are the crowds like in June? And the weather? I remember it being really hot in August, but I'm not sure about June.

Any information about crowds in these months and the weather would really help me decide!

(still need to find a ticker...just registered, so I'll do that soon!)

June is pretty crowded and quite hot. I believe that Thanksgiving is supposed to be a nice time to go. Actually going on the holiday itself might make it busier, but I know the weather is pretty nice around that time, and Christmas decorations start going up, so you might catch some of that. That would be my vote out of your options. Althought the weather is probably nice, Easter is one of the busiest times of the year. It gets pretty packed on Easter and Christmas (although can still be a very enjoyable trip). As far as crowds and weather both, Thanksgiving would be your best bet, as the other two times will be crowded. So here's the ratings of your three choices on heat and crowds:

Crowds:
Thanksgiving - not so crowded
June - pretty crowded
Easter - very crowded

Weather:
Thanksgiving - nice weather likely
June - quite hot and storms everyday
Easter - nice weather likely

Of your three choices I would choose Easter last. If you are water park or pool people you may enjoy June. Still very hot :sunny: . I have been for Thanksgiving and it was crowded. The weather was a little chilly but nice.

Hi, We're planning for Thanksgiving 2006. We went in late April/Early May in 2002 because DD was still in Elementary school & had a couple of days off for teacher conferences. But now that she's in the higher grades, she can't miss school and we are left with the same options that you are considering.
Thanksgiving seems like the best choice. Friends have told me the weather is very nice and there will be crowds, but not as bad as Easter.
DD has off the Mon/Tues after Thanksgiving so I am hoping to get two days of lighter crowds. It will be nice to see the Christmas decorations too! I am avoiding summer because the heat gets to me.
Have fun planning! :sunny:

I would say Thanksgiving, then June, then Easter.
The weather was great when we were there the week before Thanksgiving last year. Many people were swimming. It's going to be crowded but you get a little cooler weather and Christmas decorations.

We went during Easter week of 2004, and it was very crowded. The biggest plus was coming from cold Ohio to warm Florida. Just to spend time in the warm sunshine was a big boost for me.

The only problem with the crowds we had was taking the bus to Magic Kingdom from our hotel (Port Orleans Riverside) after dinner. The other parks were managable.

Given your dates, I would shoot for Thanksgiving. A great blend of hopefully smaller crowds and almost perfect weather. Good Luck.
