I need some advice, on our first evening I haven't planned on anywhere to eat. There is no point asking DB and his Fiance as they have never been and don't have a clue and tbh won't be impressed on anywhere i choose for us to eat.

I already have meals planned for Auberge, Inventions, Cafe Mickey, Annettes and Rainforest Cafe.

I was thinking of just having the buffet at the Cheyenne but if i'm honest i'm not a buffet type person(this is coming from someone who has booked Inventions :lmao: ), im always worried there will be nothing i like.

I'm also tempted to just go to Mcdonalds, but i feel that i we go there that is a waste of Disney time. I love lapping up the atmosphere. Also i don't fancy trasping all over the resort on the 1st day as me and DD will be exhausted.

I don't want to spend my whole trip trying to please my brother and his fiance so if they want to eat where me and DD eat then fine, if not oh well :lmao: they can always eat elsewhere. My Brother has even stated that i best not wake up early  he clearly does not know his sister very well. I will be up at 6am and out the door at 7am ready for EMH at 8am, every day

You don't you try the Sequoia Lodge restaurants?? Those are part buffet, part sit down service??

Personally, I'd say a MacDonalds by Lake Disney is very nice indeed!! :thumbsup2

What about King Ludwigs? Bearing in mind that it's in the village, you could kind of call in there on the way back to the hotel?

The food sound too weird for my liking.

Whats New york sandwichs like? Are they freshly prepared?

we quite often use the Sandwich deli place in the Village (can't remember what it's called) but you can get a great baguette or panini with fries and a drink for a great price and they are really nice and very fresh. My aunt who came with us on our last trip wanted one thing and placed her order and changed her mind and then wanted something without mayo and they did it no problem .... would recommend them for something quick and easy.

We had a hotdog from New York Sandwiches at Easter - it was while we were staying at the campsite on the day we went to DLP to park to go to Paris. We decided we were hungry and this seemed ideal. We got them as a takeaway and ate them by the lake in the pitch black cold. Everyone was looking at us as though we were mad.
They were very nice though.

if you are in the park you could go to Caseys or dont forget Annettes does takeaways as well - they have a good takeaway menu for a reasonable price

Ever since watching that programme on channel 4 about sandwiches its made me very anxious.

Are they prepared in front of you?

They do some simple food, as well as the more german style. They certainly do a simple chicken and chips, as well as a breaded veal portion which is quite nice (if you agree with veal - not everybody does). There also seems to be a steak and a burger :thumbsup2

At the same time, I know what you mean - I'm fussy in what I eat, so do feel a little restricted at Ludwigs; I usually have the breaded veal.

I'm not sure, Ludwigs has never really appealled to me. :confused3

I would of eaten at the Sports bar but i find there service so slow, 45mins to order a cocktail :headache:

Why not double up at annettes?

Its worth 2 meals in my books, and its nearly compulsory Dis-board ettiquette to eat it as your first meal.

I have to admit, we have Annettes lined up for our first meal!! Yummy Milkshakes here I come!

Ok i think i will go for Annettes, now i need to decide if we eat just before 7pm or watch Candleabration and then eat :confused3

Decisions, decisions esp i am a huge sucker for candleabration and find myself crying everytime i watch it. :)

Its nearly always our first meal at DLP. There is so much choice you could easily eat here twice and not feel you are just having the same again

Well, you'll get to see the Candleabration more than once during your trip, so it might be a good idea to go to Annettes before the Candleabration on your first night!
