Not Sure What To Do With Myself For 9 Days

I'm scheduled for 16 days at the camp ground at the end of may. The kids are staying the first 7 days after that its just the dog and I. there are a number of tours I hope to take. The Wilderness lodge tour, the Food Tour at Animal kingdom and the board walk tour. I am also set to take the backstage 4 park tour. Sambuster

If you have the budget for it, you might consider some tours. We did the Magic Behind the Steam Trains and liked it a lot -- there were several solo travelers. We also did a half-day tour at Disneyland (Walk in Walt's Footsteps) & I know there are some other great tours at WDW. You meet lots of new people, everyone's comfortable talking to each other, and you can enjoy & ask lots of questions. Sometimes it's nice to make conversation when you've been alone for days. It's also nice to have something specific to get to at a given time.

When I'm alone I also make a point to see as much live entertainment as I can -- piano player, flag retreat ceremony, shows, etc.

And of course I hit the pool and shop, which can get expensive when I'm unencumbered and no one's there to ask me if I REALLY need that turkey leg scented air freshener, etc...

Enjoy!

Most here know my story. I had a sisters trip planned for December and my sister found out she was pregnant 1 month after I booked. Sadly, my sister lost her baby this week. (she would have been 10 weeks yesterday) She does not want to go because she said that she and her husband want to try for another baby and she does not want to commit anything. That is okay; I am truly excited about going by myself and doing things my way. :yay:

I am going on borrowed in DVC points; for that reason I have to keep what I booked. I could stay in a one-bedroom for less nights, but I feel like that is too much space for little ol' me. I could sell the reservation but uh, no!!! :P

So my question is - what am I to do for 9 days? I just dont want to get to that place where I am wandering around the park not too sure what to do with myself. I am thinking (guessing at this point) that riding alone, eating alone, shopping on my own, only me for characters, taking pictures, etc will mean that I get more done in a day. I am wondering if 5 or 6 days in, I will feel like I have "done it all". I know there are tours and such, but I do want to be mindful of how much I am spending.

Do any of you who go solo ever feel like you are ready to go home before your trip is over? I might be a little over-concerned about it since this is my first solo.
I'll be there in December solo as well ! I went last year for 9 days and I loved it. Just don't rush normally I do but I took everything slow and took in all the little things that I might usually by pass. I met a million characters talked to a lot of people and just took it all in because I could. I can't wait to do it again for Christmas time!

For the record I did completely go over board the first day I was there. My flight was at 5 am I was at the hotel by 10am. Finished ak by 2pm swam at the hotel had dinner at the down town disney went to see a concert at epcot saw Fantasmic at mgm and went to extra magic hours at magic kingdom talk about overload I almost passed out at magic kingdom lol after that I slowed down and smelled the roses
