I haven't seen this posted before, so please forgive me if it's old news. :)

Everything I'd read indicated that characters were $800 each or $1200 for two for 30 minutes. The sample pricing I rec'd from DFTW the other day has them listed at $900 each and $1350+ for two.

Just in case you didn't know. :thumbsup2

That sucks. When does this pricing take effect?

The bottom of the sheets say "Revised April 2010", so I guess they're in effect now.

I don't know why $900 seems so much more than $800 to me, but it does, LOL!

LOL, it's like they're nickel and diming you, I totally understand feeling like $900 is so much more!

That is definitely strange, the paperwork I received from Amy on the 21st still lists $800 & $1200 and I'm making them stick to it! :thumbsup2

Are you close to your date? I'm asking because on my sample pricing sheet, it says prices are subject to change, and that prices can't be confirmed 'til 6 months prior to the event, which annoyed my dh. He feels that once a contract is signed, whatever prices are in effect at the time should be locked in. I'm just trying to roll with it, LOL!

Think I agree with your DH on this one. Once you sign a contract then the price should be set.

I guess I will have to skip on characters. I wanted Belle and the Beast to show...and have "be our guest" planning in the background while everyone was on the dance floor...hmmm

It does say prices subject to change, but all we can do is argue our case and hope for the best.

Disney is really starting to frustrate me and sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and say screw it :headache:

I emailed Amy, we'll see what she says. Grrr.

I agree with everyone, even though its only $100 more for one character, its $100 that I could of used for something else...grrrr!!!:sad2:

And what is that extra kick to the butt, it is $150 extra for two characters....Why not just make it a flat $100.

Ugh! If everything goes up, I am going to have to elope ;)

I won't tell you ladies when when I got married in 2003 it was 800 for both Mickey and Minnie! I thought that was a lot of 30 minutes! I don't think that I will be having characters this time around! If my wedding happens in Disney we are still up in the air at this point.

Oh, that would've been sooooooo sweet :lovestruc -- Beauty & the Beast is my favorite Disney movie!

Wow I was having a really hard time justifying $800.... of course I'm having a hard time justifying everything! I don't see why on earth this is so expensive, when I told me mom how much it cost she said me and her should go be Mickey and Minnie at a few weddings and then we'd have enough to pay for mine!:rotfl: (Of course, I'm sure most of it goes to Disney, not the characters!)

I thought is was a good idea...and the nice soft slow version of the song would be perfect...

Hearing about this makes me a bit nervous about what else could have gone up without being advised...

This is from Amy:

Yes, character pricing is changing. It is for any wedding after October 1st. I’m sorry it was not updated in the planning kit. Yes, the pricing of $900 and $1350 is correct for you. I’m sorry!
