Hi! I am really bad with cash and so is my Dh. I would love to charge everything to our room but we are staying offsite. Is it doable to just charge everything in the parks? I'd also hate to get all those ATM fees too. So how much cash would we need for the parks each day- me Dh DS 5 and DD 13 months? We plan on bringing water bottles and snacks for the kids. Do counter places take CC or only cash? TIA

The only places that CC's are not accepted are the stand alone snack/souvenier stands (ice cream vendors, souvenier carts, CM's who walk around selling ballons, etc) because they don't have the proper connections to process the CC. Regular Counter Service eateries and shops all take CC's.

I prefer to keep anywhere from $25 to $50 cash on hand, if not a bit more.

You may want to consider getting traveler's checks instead of carrying lots of cash around with you.

crabmeal - I'd agree with RhondaS. You can use a CC virtually everywhere. I usually go down with $300 or $400 cash for the week and that's always more than enough. Of course, if you run short the ATM is always an option if absolutely necessary. I hardly ever spend cash anywhere, Disney or otherwise, to maximize the rewards on my CC.

Do be aware that bottled water costs about $2.50--$4.50. Many of the places that sell it only take cash. Do plan at least $10 per person per day for water. Even if you're going in the winter months when its not so hot you will work up a thirst.
