Hi, I haven't been to Disney in over 20 years. My twin girls will be 8 in October and we have started planning a trip to Disney for then!

Don't give me a hard time, but I signed up for one of those time share tours a few weeks ago so we're staying outside of Disney. ; )

My question to all of you is, what do we do about eating since we can't purchase a dining plan? Remember, it's been a looong time since I've been there and I was a teenager then. I am clueless about pretty much everything when it comes to Disney!

Thank you for taking the time to reply! : )

you just pay OOP(out of pocket)
does your hotel have a kitchen?? you can bring in food if you want - just no glass (think mayo or pickles or beer)
if you are wanting a character meal - I would call & see if a spot of open ASAP

You can pay out of pocket in the parks and eat off property also.
We eat the majority of our meals off property, and splurge on a couple of in park meals.

If you are budgeting, carry in sandwiches and bottled water. You will save a fortune. I always did this when my kids were little.

Thank you for the responses! I didn't know we could take food in; that's wonderful and probably what we will do!

Thanks again!

Bring snacks like goldfish and anything that wont melt. Also bring a collapsible cooler. Freeze some bottled water to keep whatever you pack cold. The bottled water alone with save big bucks over the course of a week. We have never stayed on property. My suggestion is if you're gonna eat on site set some reservations because the counter service food is ok at best. Table service meals usually only cost a little more but so worth it. Let me know what parks you're visiting and I'll give you some suggestions...

hi there, We stayed in a timeshare last year when we went. I mean why not if you are getting a good deal right? THis year we are going all out. I think its good to do it both ways. We just paid out of pocket for like 4 dinners(chef mickeys, epcot princess breakfast, 1900 fair and ohana). I was thinking of bring food in, bc you can..but they really dont like it. I dont think you can really sit anywhere to eat it. We did buy a ton of bottled water and brought it in and also snacks. We ate at the timeshare a few times. To be honest, by the last character meal, my daughter was just about done with it. This time we got the deluxe plan (3 meals a day and two snacks). So we shall see how that goes. I think no matter how you go to disney, its always going to be special. Hope you have a blast.
