My family (of 13) was VERY dissapointed in the MVMCP that happened at the Magic Kingdom on the 18th. There was sooooo many people there that you could barely walk the streets, waiting for the rides was atrocious and since it was a special event there was no fast pass. We were there for almost the entire 5 hours and only got to ride 2 rides! The rest of the time was spent standing in line. To be fair, the parade, at least what I got to see of it because of the many people, was beautiful and so were the fireworks but nothing I would spend more money on again. This was my families first and last MVMCP. We won't waste our money on this event again. I'll save my money for an additional meal at Whispering Canyon!

Wow we went last year on a Tuesday right around that time ( I think the 19th). It wasn;t crowded at all we had seats for the 2nd Parade right in front of City hall and this was about 20 mins before it was to start.

We did most of the Rides with no wait and a few of the Dance parties as well. You can see in this Picture it was crowded but by no means packed. I wonder if they are selling more Tickets now but I do't think we were sold out.

Here you can see some sitting room right under the Train station as well.

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment with the MVMCP ... we attended on 12/11/07 and the crowd level was full but we there was still plenty of room to walk and hardly any wait time on any of the rides ... I had seen that the 12/18/07 MVMCP was "sold out" and guess that maybe that had something to do with the crowds; however, supposedly the night we went, signs in the park also said that the event was "sold out" for our night too ... I wonder if they just made more tickets available to sell out 12/18/07 than 12/11/07:confused3...

We had gone to the MVMCP in 2005 & 2006, and I did notice that there were new/different floats added to the parade this year and it was beautiful ... and I just loved the fireworks too ...

I know when we left on 12/15 to come home, I noticed that the crowd levels throughout WDW in general had started to increase dramatically ... maybe that had something to do with it also ...

Totally agree with you! We were there on the 18th and it was so crowded in was insane. Not as bad as New Year's Eve mind you, but still terrible. They need to sell way less tickets, especially since it takes so long to get all the people out of there with no wristbands. The parade was GREAT! Fireworks were really pretty, but like you said - those won't make me go back to MVMCP. Maybe earlier in December it wouldn't be so bad.

I was there on the 18th, and I walked onto all the rides I wanted to go on. The longest wait was space mountain, and it was less than 10 minutes.

I guess I'm just use to Disneyland in the summer when the lines are hours long.

I too was there. We watched the first fireworks from the window while eating at the Plaza. We walked around a while and went on the rides. We tried to find a place to watch the parade but we didnt look early enough and there wasnt anywhere to sit. So we skipped the first parade and went back on the rides. We watched the fireworks again, then returned to the rides. We didnt bother with the second parade as we were very tired out! I think we got lucky going on the rides when people were at the parade. Longest wait was Space Mountain of about 10 minutes. We enjoyed it, but probably wouldnt spend the extra money on it again. Wasn't the castle beautiful! I was awestruck by it!

We were there on the 18th as well (4:30 -midnight). Sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience. It was crowded, but we were able to do every attraction we wanted to without rushing. The key for us is to do the least popular attractions early and hit the biggies late after the crowd dies down considerably. I saw the wait for Space Mountain was 60 mintues a little after 7:00. We waited less than 10 minutes after 11:00. Also, we don't lose an hour securing the best parade spot. I prefer to take my chances and see what I can find 15 minutes before the second parade begins, and usually it works out fine. The biggest difference I noticed this year was it seemed that more people made it to closing. Last year we rode Big Thunder Mountain 3 times without getting off after 11:30. This year there was still a small wait late, but nothing major.

OP, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the party. We thought it was fantastic this year. We arrived about 6pm (later than planned, but oh well). Made it to the hub when Wishes started --DH, DD,DS took off to Space Mtn.--Watched Wishes with my Dad & his wife then met up with the rest of my family. They had skipped SM, it had a 40-60min wait between 6-7pm. They walked onto Buzz Lightyear instead. Then we went to Indy race cars, 10minute wait there, walked onto Cindy's carousel, Mickey's Philharmagic broke, so we went to Snow White, 5min posted. Walked onto Small World. Then made our way to Haunted Mansion, walked right in, disappointed that I didn't have more time to look around. Then went to Splash Mtn right before the 1st parade. Dad & wife went to watch parade, we went to Splash Mtn. 10min posted, only took as long as the walk thru the queue. There were empty boats most of the night. BTM was 10 minutes after that. Once the parade was over we went to Pirates, walked right in. Then made our way towards the hub, by Crystal Palace to watch Holiday Wishes. After the fireworks we rode Pooh Bear, Peter Pan,then had counter service while we watched the the 2nd parade. Moved back up front and rode Buzz Lightyear and twice on Space Mtn to finish the night at midnight. During the night we had time to get plenty of cocoa & cookies and shop a little. We did everything that we wanted to do, the weather was good and it was a magical night. :santa:

We were there the 18th as well and it was CRAZY crowded. We, too, will never do another special ticketed event.

I'm not usually one to cry "too crowded to move" but it truly was that night. We were only able to do two shows, a dance party and the fireworks. To be fair, Tomorrow Land didn't seem as busy as Main Street, but there were still lines. It literally took us 15 minutes to get from main gate to the castle at about 7:00. I agree that too many tickets were sold and there was no "special" feeling, other than getting bumped and jostled in the crowds!!

We were in the parks during the day from 12-16 through 12-21 and didn't have anything near these crowds any day at any park.
