Not So Scary Halloween Party

I tried to book BOG for our trip, (specifically the night of Oct 21, which is a predicted date of MNSSHP) but none of the restaurants are available. Does anyone know if they become available when they release the party dates, or are the table service restaurants closed those nights anyway?

BOG is only open until 7 on party nights I think. If you were trying for earlier, it's probably just booked already.

My 180 days opens up May 3rd for Oct 31st we will be going to the party afterwards. I guess at 6am I better be on this darn computer to try and get my reservation at BOG at 430.. Wish me luck

I actually recommend Liberty Tree's character dinner, if they still offer it. We've eaten there a couple of MNSSHP nights in the past (ideally do it around 5pm, before they kick the regular park guests out, so you can be fed and ready to roll at 7pm). When we did it, the characters were wearing costumes. It was cute, and the food's good and filling.

They start handing out armbands midafternoon so you can have your bands on before you go into dinner and then by the time you get out, CMs will be close to restricting ride access. Frontierland is a pretty good place to watch the parade too, if you stay back there til 8.

LTT is no longer a character meal.

Same here!!! :goodvibes

Me too.. This will be the first time we are going to MNSSHP and we are looking forward to it hoping to get dinner at BOG before the party.

I have been there for Halloween week the last two years and totally love MNSSHP! Both years I have done two parties. I travel solo so the budget and touring are more flexible. I don't dress up but I do trick-or-treat and will get some character autographs.

One thing nobody has mentioned is the Villains Mix & Mingle show in front of the castle. All the great ones are in the show then they come down and sign autographs for about 10-15 minutes immediately after each show.

The fireworks and the parade are my favorites. The music from both is more villain centric, but not really scary either. The music for the fireworks always has me practically jumping up and down.

Here is a link to my photos on Flickr: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjMSDyer. There are tons of pics of the party, parade and pics with Jack Skellington and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Last year was their first time at MNSSHP.

You will love the party!

Very Nice Pictures. I went to MNSSHP this past year and was not crazy about it. These pictures make me want to give it another try. Really nice pictures...:goodvibes thanks!

I have been talking about getting a BOG reservation for the night of the MNSSHP which is Oct 31st but now I am rethinking it. I was thinking we would have to go back to our room at the BCV and then go back to MK. I was thinking maybe i should change it to the day before the party so we wouldn't have to rush or have the kids eat dressed up. Can I get anyone's opinion? It would help knowing what other people would do..

We are doing Pirate's League between 2-3 (all 9 of us...should be an experience!) and then eating at BOG at 4:30 in our costumes. We will choose costumes that are fairly light and comfortable anyway (in case it's super hot) so it shouldn't be a problem. I definitely wouldn't want to eat at BOG, go back to BCV to change, and go back to the party. That seems like a waste of time.

I agree that's why I am rethinking. My 180 day is on May 3rd so I have only a week to decide.

There are plenty of people who do not dress up. Some do make Halloween shirts though. Some people dress up, some don't. ;)

My wife and I, who are not big costume people, will "dress up" for MNSSHP on Sept. 9, the first day we arrive.

Because we're primarily going on rides and taking in the atmosphere, we're going to dress very light ... really just a hint at costumes. For example, I'm going as Tony Stark ... I'll have a T-shirt with a light-up Arc Reactor, and a friend of mine who cosplays is making me an Iron Man gauntlet for my right hand with a light-up repulsor. (Was just going to buy a cheap toy one, but they're really made to fit kids.)

That's it. Anything more than that and I think it would just be too much or too awkward. My wife is going to do something similarly light. Perhaps this is more like Disney-bounding? Anyway, I figure this will be a fun way to get into the spirit, but not attract too much attention (we're very introverted).
