My DH and I are going to Disney in September and were curious about the Not So Scary Halloween Party? Is this something that adults (without children) would enjoy?

Just curious on others thoughts.

I attended my first MNSSHP last year. I am not a big parade person and decided to skip the first one and ride Splash Mountain several times while the crowds gathered for the Boo To You Parade. There are two parades in a given night, so I caught the second one that night. I loved it so much that I bought tickets later that week to attend another MNSSHP. The parades are only part of it though. The Hallowishes fireworks are amazing too. It's DEFINITELY worth it and you'll love it. I'm 40 (male) and had a blast! I got my tickets yesterday to attend two MNSSHPs while I'm at Disney in October. :cool1:

I've been to three MNSSHP s solo. Love them. Between MNSSHP and the F&W Festival, I consider the fall "my" time of year at WDW

Thanks for your input! Have the activities been released for 2008 - everywhere I have looked it lists 06 & 07 things. :surfweb:

I attended the MNSSHP for the first time last year to celebrate my 38th birthday. As a Halloween baby and Disney fan, I always wanted to go on my big day so I dragged the rest of my adult family with me and had a ball!!

I especially loved watching the costumes. My winner was a family dressed as the Flintstones. They had Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bam-Bam, Wilma's mother who traveled in a Flintstone car (AKA an ECV) with Dino and the Great Gazoo attached to the front. If I was a braver soul, I would have asked if I could take their picture.

WE are 48 and 63 and we LOVED it last year! When I asked DF if he wanted to go again this year, his answer was an enthusiastic 'YES!'

I can't wait until MNSSHP! We bought tickets for October 19th, which is my Mom's birthday. She and I are going by ourselves for the first time. (We haven't been since 2002). It's going to be a blast! :yay:

Hmmm....I hadn't really been considering attending the parties as I figured that they would be too child oriented, but now you all have me reconsidering it.

One quick question though. Do any of the adults with no children dress up in costume, or is that pretty much done only by the parents? My DW and I both enjoy dressing up in costume and have a decent collection. :cool1:

Yes, we do dress up!!

We go every year, not to be missed. Looking for costume ideas, been online all day looking around. DH already has Indiana Jones planned this year, still trying to figure mine out. (Right now trying to find a adult Mulan costume with no LUCK!)

Can't wait for the party--This is one of our most favorite things we do all year. :thumbsup2

I would say that two-thirds of the guests were dressed in costume whether they were with children or not. I say dress up and have some fun!!

MNSSHP is a good time...it consists of special events such as:
A Halloween parade(Boo To You), characters are dressed up in costumes...the parade was great!
Different version of Wishes fireworks...called Hallowishes.
When you enter the Magic Kingdom, you'll be given a trick-or-treat bag and you go trick-or-treating throughout the park at 'X' marked locations, chocolates, candy is given out.
At the park entrance, it is smokey, eery atmosphere(but not so scary!) with Halloween decor...all done in a Disney Fashion of course.
The park itself has Halloween decor throughout...very cool. Take plenty pics.
You'll notice plenty of kids and also adults dressed up in costumes!
There is a show in front of the castle, but unfortunatly, I missed it.
And of course the park is open for extra magic hours which is at least midnight.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure I may have forgotten some other piece of info.
You'll have a great time!
