NOT SO Happy Limo

I just go back on Sat. from the Magic. Happy limo was booked by me and never showed up. They had my credit card number and I gave them a time. They asked for my email which I gave.

Here are the problems: When I booked, I was quoted $106 and when I called 10 minutes later to book w/ a credit card the rate changed to $126. They said that noone ever quoted me the $106 amount. I booked anyway at the $126 price. After the criuse, we had an 8:30 pick up for a 12:00 flight. They never came and said we never confirmed. WHAT?!? They said they sent me an email to confirm which we never got b/c they had our email off by one letter. Needless to say Happy Limo will not be part of our vacation plans again. Just thought others should know!

I also received a quote from them a couple of months ago. I believe the extra $10.00 is for the automatic gratuity that they apply.

Yikes!
We had an 8:30 pickup on Sunday, and they were there early...we ended up getting to the pick-up area a little earlier than we thought we would. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. They've been really good for us, even when our midnight flight was once delayed by two hours, meaning it arrived at 2 a.m. (ugh!).

Tried Happy Limo once on our last trip, based on recommendations from sponsors/posters here. Never again. O.K. on the outbound. Extremely late on the return. I called when they were 15 minutes late. Got a return call directly from the driver to say he was ten minutes away. TWENTY-FIVE minutes later he finally shows up at the Poly. We were in the process of trying to get another means of transport when he showed. He offered no explanation for not being on time so I can only assume there was no good reason. Then the driver tried to "make it up" by taking a shortcut that led him directly into a traffic jam. They are supposed to be professionals and know what is happening on the roads. To top it off, the car was old and cruddy - and had other people's trash in the back.
There's nothing like ending your WDW trip by sweating and running through the airport with little ones - only to miss your flight.

Im wondering if Barb and Tony always have great service because they are regulars? Even if these 2 post are not very common occurances I still will not ever use Happy Limo. It is not worth the worry that you might get to the ship later than you want to or heaven forbid miss your flight. Yikes!

To select your transportation company, I recommend hopping over to the Transportation Board. Over there, you'll find lots of posts about lots of companies. That way, you can weigh the positives and negative to make an informed choice. Other than the cruise board, that's the one where I hang out the most because it has great air and car rental info. too.

We used them , btoh ways, from the wilderness Lodge to MCO in April 2002 and they were just fine. We are using them this Sunday morning (I got a stretch limo, it's my father's 70th birthday) to take us to the Cruise ship. I will definitely call them tomorrow to confirm. Last time driver was courteous, car was brand new and clean. We're not a "showy" family, but there are six of us and I thought that the "stretch" would be a novel way to start the trip.

Thanks for the info i booked them for dec 04 but i might check into other means just in case that is good to know

This scares me to death. Has ayone else got opinions on this? Who's used them and how did it go?

I'm wondering if I should cancel and book with someone else. They were so nice and helpful on the phone, but we are using them only one way. From the port to the airport. We fly all day, literally, if I miss the first flight ... ouch. It would be ugly.

We used them last March for 3 legs of our trip and they were wonderful. Service was excellent, they were on time, and the limos were in great shape and clean. After you make a reservation with them they will send you an email that you need to send back to confirm the reservation. Then, they will send you another email saying the reservation is confirmed. We will be using them again for our cruise in April and this time we are getting the Hummerzine. Can't wait to see that.:p

Thank-you for posting about your experience. Sometimes the bad isn't fun to hear about but it's good to know what could go wrong.

If you are on the Magic on 12/4/ - I'd like to invite you to join our thread!

I'm using Happy Limo on 4/17 so will be able to post my report also - definitely going to call the day before to make sure everything is set up!!!

I used Happy Limo last December and they worked out just fine. We were WDW to Port to MCO. No problems. On time. Immaculate town car and very courteous driver. Even had a grocery stop.

We used Happy Limo in December. They took us from MCO to POR, POR to the ship and the ship back to MCO. We had no problems. They were there when we asked them to be and even helped put in three car seats for us. I didn't think they were very talkative. They just did their job, but it was fine.

We used them on our 1/10-1/17 Eastern and had the Hummerzine. All was fine on the outgoing but the return home was not. The Hummerzine showed up filthy dirty and smelled like an all night binge!

I learned some things from them...

They don't follow the "customer is always right" policy.

They don't promptly reply when there is a problem.

You must take PICTURES to prove anything negative to them. Also, complain to them immediately! Doing so upon immediate return to your home is not soon enough!

Read ALL fine print of your contract carefully so you will not be surprised/disappointed.

HTH someone!

DH and I were just talking today about our transportation options. I think we will rent a car and drive ourselves over to the ship. We love getting there right when it opens and getting in line. We figured that DH could drop us off and then he could go drop off the car and have their shuttle join us.

I think we will try Budget because we have used them before. I am watching for any bad experience reports doing this and so far it doesn't sound bad.

So it is just an option is anyone else wants an alternative. I think if there are more than 4 in your party, driving yourself is less expensive than the other alternatives.

I had a horrible Budget car experience - pressured into insurance, over charged for the rental from the quote I had, the car we had rented wasn't available (a minivan - we needed to carry six people), the carseats weren't available. Ended up spending over an hour in the airport waiting for a car - and spending $500 more than we thought we would!

We had a horrible towncar experience as well (not HappyLimo, but Cartier).

I seem to be cursed. Can you walk from MCO to the Port? :earseek:

Budget wasn't too bad for us. We did a weird combination of transfers this time because I wanted to do some firsthand research for my DCL planner CD. We rented from Budget on the way out and took Happy Limo back to MCO. Budget upgraded us from an economy car to a Ford Taurus (not sure what class that would be). The line at the airport took about 15 minutes to get through, and then we picked up our car and were on our way. It had over 16,000 miles on it and a shimmy at speeds over 60 m.p.h., but I liked the fact that it was big and had good pickup. They weren't overly aggressive about the insurance, and the drop off in Cape Canaveral was smooth. The shuttle pulled up shortly after we arrived to take us to the ship. I definitely prefer a towncar because I am lazy, but the Budget experience was much smoother than I expected, and I got a good one-way rate via Hotwire.

With the 'luck' you seem to be having, I wouldn't try hitching either. ;)
