Not requesting a room?

I've booked for POFQ in May/08. I never made a room request at the time because I didn't really know where to request. Since it's smaller resort and I'm not paying for a waterview, is it fine to roll the dice and see what they give me? Is it alright to just wait until a few days before we leave to make a request? (If so would I call the CRO or the hotel itself?) TIA:thumbsup2

YOu can call at any time to make a room request. However, since you don't really care where your room is, why not really live dangerously and not request anything? We did that and got the most perfect room for us there.

If you wanted to make a room request you would call CRO, not the hotel. In your case, you might consider one other factor - do you want a top or lower floor? Top floors have the advantage of less foot traffic outside your room and no noise from overhead. Lower floors have the advantage of no stairs to climb. If any of that matters to you, then you might want to put in a request.

I don't request things I don't NEED, like I used to request a non-smoking room because of health reasons and I have to request a building with an elevator or a ground floor because of the scooter I use. I've always enjoyed being surprised with where my room was located

We don't make requests either, and I have never had a bad room. If you are not paying for a specific room type, just wing it. Requests are not guarenteed anyway, so why set yourself up to be disappointed if they can not accomodate you?
