I get "wined and dined" in my current job. especially this time of year.
I was invited to two parties last night. the first party was given by people I do some business with, but don't really know well. they made their party at a restaurant in the South Street Seaport. I stayed for cocktails, but left just as the d.j. was setting up.
the other party was in a restaurant in Battery Park, with a view of the Statue of Liberty. this was a party given by people I used to wrok with, who now have their own firm. I refer busines to them occasionally. no music, no dancing at this party, but so many people I know and haven't seen in awhile. so it was really the "better" party.
I went to an al-day seminar today, but skipped the reception afterwards -- I'm all partied out. (and the fact that my neighbrohood got 8 inches of snow today certainly didn't help.)
I'll be at least 3 other business parties in the next few weeks. at this rate I hope I make it to New Year's!
